Borealis, infinite Ionic return and why you should use it.....
I’m sorry Warlocks and Titans (also Xbox and PC players) but Borealis is a Hunters sniper (at least in PVE) it’s also, in my opinion, the best, most versatile heavy for high level PVE content (probs not Raids, I haven’t tried it yet)
If you break an enemies shield with the matching element Ionic return procs, granting you double damage until you reload, nice I hear you say...... well now dodge to reload and you won’t lose the Ionic return buff but you’ll reload the weapon, giving you double damage sniper shots for an entire activity. Super handy on this weeks nightfall with the Arc shielded Knights.
So many people have asked me what I’m using when they see shielded yellow bar enemies explode in-front of them in the blink of an eye.
You can deal close to 50,000 damage on Nokris with 5 shots, Borealis holds 19.....
This is one thing Bungie got absolutely spot on, now I just want a cool ornament for it, please Bungie?
Edit: I’m aware this can work on the other classes too, with barricade and Luna refraction boots but just try it on the Hunter, the mobility of the reload dodge is what makes it so much fun

Well with lunafactions this now works for warlocks also and the upcoming update to barricade it will for titans also

This works in conjunction with any auto-reload ability. I like using it with the Sealed grasps so I don't have to switch my dodge.

Titan shield is better than hunter dodge for pve, you're crouched to not block teammates and you don't waste time dodging to reload

I play on Xbox and was like, “yo i gotta get thus gun!” And then it hit me. Darci still deals a ton more damage consistently though. No need to take a little break to try and get double damage shots when all you gotta do is point darci at nokris’ head and with two other dudes holding sleeper or curtain call or even darci, gun him down like you in a gang fight.

I just got this sniper rifle yesterday. I love how you can change the burns! I took it out to try on a patrol real quick and really like how it shoots. Thanks for the heads up on the perk's though. I run a Hunter too so this info helps.

4 RepliesClose to 50000? Darci crits for 12k per shot on him (at an 8 modifier) with a 7 round mag. Thats 84000, plus it holds 23 total. Not to mention, no glitch required and has better stability. Not to mention its Arc, knights have Arc shields. Use Darci.

I personally use a Warlock a lot and would argue a against this but playing on my hunter for powerful engrams showed me how good arcstrider is in PvE. You can get a regular Melee kill and regain ur entire dodge. With that you can constantly dodge and reload ur mag. Sounds puuuurty neat to me

4 RepliesTitan Barricade or Lunafaction Boots are better. Both can refill the mag with all your ammo, one gives an easy shield and another can heal you or increase your damage further. Hunters may have invented the easy reload, but Warlocks and Titans are better at it.

I would say Titan Barricade can dish it out quicker. Yeah sure Hunter is more mobile. But you have to wait for the camera to zoom out, your hunter do the animation, then the camera zoom back in. Yes, it's quick, but with the barricade, all you have to do is double tap crouch, then boom, reloaded. No annoying animation, no hassle. AND, it gives you a wall of protection. I use it to one phase Protheon and it works a treat.
