I remember when gun skill was actually a thing? Now it’s a who can sneak up and “flank” before anyone notices. How annoying and this is not skill. There aren’t enough cues for no radar. Please bring it back for comp. we already have a try hard mode in trials. Bungie, stop trying to be something you’re not. You’re not halo, call of duty or Counter strike. Don’t pretend to be like them.
RIP d2

Edited by Jeebs: 5/18/2018 7:24:35 AMThere's a massive skill in FPS games called game sense and people who have high skilled game sense rarely get surprise attacked or flanked because of their awareness. I'm not at all shocked at all the try hards who have taken a massive skill drop due to having bad game sense are up in arms. If bungie put the 360 wallhack back in they should increase the aim assistance to over 9000 and be done with it 😑

6 RepliesI like no radar specifically because it allows for tactical moves like flanking without the opposing team seeing it from miles away. It gimps team shooting groups who lack spatial awareness and don't watch their backs. Do some flanking yourself and use your eyes and ears instead of relying on a circle in the upper left-hand corner to help you see through walls.

2 RepliesAnyone who says this takes "more skill" Has absolutely no argument to be made. Please explain how it takes skill to shoot people who are completely unaware of you. Oh.. That's right it doesn't. And I also love how anyone who thinks no radar is stupid is automatically assumed to be bad at the game. When in actuality its the other way around. The people who are bad at the game are the ones who are happy about this change, because it will finally allow them to not need to win gun fights. They can just hide around the map until they see someones back.

43 RepliesHighly disagree. You have to use your brain more, plan extra. The radar is a crutch imo.
-
28 RepliesBecause it is called competitive. Dont whine if it becomes competitive.
-
3 RepliesLol gun skill while radar is 24/7 Hey i can see my opponents coming, you know what? Lets wait for them and aim through that door/hall and shoot them while crouching. Am sorry that your sorry ass cant get a kill with you having a handicap.
-
1 ReplyI agree that the sound cues in this game could use some tweaking.
-
the skill here comes in from not camping and always watching your back, i love it keeps everyone moving
and if your team does camp and team shot you will get flanked
-
1 ReplyBecause it makes it more fun, and Sanguine Alchemy is OP in comp.
-
1 ReplyNo radars made competitive fun for me, although I forgot to take my knucklehead radar off for trials xD

I gotta disagree. No radar requires far more team play and even better gun skill. If you miss a kill and they get away you have no clue where it is they could end up. You gotta remember what radar helps you do after you make an engagement and how to follow up on it both team wise and even whether to swap weapons or not. Also, flanking is a legitimate strat that can beat even the best of teams. It requires one teammate to play a bit more passive and call for the flank so you don't get entirely overwhelmed. Besides, radar in D2 currently is a bit OP as it can track someone at ridiculous ranges. It's competitive for a reason, learn to communicate and play as a team better. You'll see more W's in no time. <3

1 ReplyIt's a Hunter, Lol. Of course it's a Hunter complaining. They will never understand why they removed the radar in those playlists. Hint: it ties directly into your class.
-
Too much of a crutch
-
2 RepliesPersonally I love no radar. You actually have to communicate with your team to find out where the enemy is. I find it requires more planning. Also it allows solo flanking without getting torn apart
Don’t pretend to be like them. RIP d2
If we were allowed to have signatures here, this would be mine for a while.
-
It’s annoying because people just sit and hide but idc I’ll just go hunt them down
-
To piss of some more people....
-
Remove radar bunghole say its a fix, well they didd'nt call it new dlc content
-
You never played another game that doesn’t involve a radar?
-
1 ReplyNo radar is amazing. Quit being a child.
-
It's because Bungie wants pvp to be random as possible. This way peoples rate of success is brought closer together. Means less hurt fee fees.
-
I honestly would be okay with it being active, but only displaying dots when guardians sprint or shoot/use abilities like it was in halo, but other then that not displaying anything. A middle ground between always on and always off.

RIP d2
I think you mean "RIP Trials". Bungie did this to begin the downfall of Trials because of the negative impact is has had on PvP and amazingly PvE. It was also the reason for all of our exotics being ruined, and led to an increase in cheating and sweatiness in the crucible. The sooner Trials dies the better.
-
1 ReplyIll adapt either way, but radar on is more skilled. Both opponents know where each other is and its up to the player to gain the best position. Like a cage match. 1v1 man to man
-
2 RepliesRemoving the radar from Destiny is the same as removing subtitles from silent movies. The game has basically no sound cues and was built for radar usage and manipulation (crouching, sliding, exotic armor with radar effects, Mida). Removing it brakes some core mechanics and gameplay options. But yeah, lets call it "competitive". May the best lip reader win.

1 ReplyNo radar is god damn awful You are correct it’s all about getting shot in the back
