Sales will show. For the first two there were many of us like myself that ordered the deluxe version being long term fans of the original and stuck through it in the good times and the bad. However, D2 was a slap in the face and even though they are in Damage Control mode and desperately trying to put bandaids on the game to make it somewhat playable, none of the real major issues have been fixed. Patches and updates can't keep up with other studios and only once their hand was forced did they start talking to the community.
I do believe they know how badly they screwed the pooch on D2 and I know they want it to succeed but after being caught doing underhanded things time and time again and insulting the community especially with their horrible Lead narrative Director who couldn't write herself out of a paper bag. Sorry. . still a little bitter after how the story was told and her under handed comment about Folk Lore trying to sweep the old Lore under the rug and retcon it all. . Anyhow, I was getting off track. I believe they know how badly they messed up but I don't think they responded fast enough or properly and were caught lying too many times that they have destroyed the trust of the community.
Yes, there have been minor improvements but many were not on point or regressing back to older systems but still, a watered down experience from what we had after 3 years of D1 and expansions. The player base was really hoping that they'd take all they learned from the first 3 years and make something that was great and, to the community's own fault maybe we were expecting too much.
I'm not saying don't buy the next DLC. I am saying, Do not pre-order the Fall expansion. Wait to see if real improvement has been made or if it's just another bandage. Do not fall victim to the hype and make an informed decision before making the purchase. Make them fix the game significantly before purchasing another add-on or anything from the in world store. Only when it starts hurting the bottom line will any real action be taken and if it doesn't make it by then and it fails then so be it. But, we can hope and I mean really hope that it will be treated with love, passion and respect to the people who love the game and the Lore (Original) and want this game to be all that it has to potential to be.
I'm sure this will probably get shoved into feedback but, for now I'll just put it here on the D2 board.

1 ReplyEdited by Iron.Rabbit: 5/15/2018 5:59:13 PMI'm finding that most of the hate this post is getting is from people who neglect to read what was written. That's like doing a thesis on a book that was never read or trying to prove that the earth if flat and disregarding all the hundreds of years of study that goes against that flat earth belief. It was stated, that NO ONE said don't buy the DLC. Just make an informed decision about it and don't blindly throw money if it's not deserved. And that Chasing light level right now is not the grind we should be doing in a looter shooter when the loot doesn't even matter because none of it is unique. Do they have the chance to redeem themselves? Yes. Are many of us disillusioned because of this past year? Absolutely.

Man your absolutely right. Destiny 1 ended on a good note but D2 felt like one step forward and than 2 steps back. I quit playing D2 after the first 2 weeks because there was nothing to do. For me it felt like a slap in the face coming from D1 to this. I think majority of the community rather had a dlc drop for D1 than to have D2. Now with that said I’m not going to kiss bungie ass because they -blam!-ed up big time. But with the release of warmind, even though there are still a lot of things that need to be made immediately, i can honestly say that I’m enjoying it. There is an actual end game with rewards worth doing. I can actually feel the grind returning to the game. I’m loving the crucible with the new exotics weapons. But there are still a lot of issue at hand. I hope they bring back random rolls and tweak the weapons even more. Another huge thing that should be coming soon is I hope bungie scarps the reskin garbage. When Destiny 1 was ending and they added those raid ornaments those where literally gorgeous and it’s so sad that Destiny 2 really doesn’t have any stand out armor like Destiny 1. Even the weapons that drop from the raids, trials, iron banner, and faction rallies are basic with no interesting perks that might actually make the weapon good. Raid lairs need to go or they need more encounters and higher enemies to fight to make them enjoyable. I like earning things that most people can’t get because to me it a since of true achievement. Destiny 2 has a long road of ahead of it but it’s not like bungie can’t win back the community. Destiny community is very forgiving due to the fact most of us love this game and I truly hope bungie is taking some notes and finally opening communication between the community and the development of this game

I’m mixed. I am very disappointed with Bungie and Warmind but I want to keep them at the top of my list. I want this game to be a success and putting down the developers at this point won’t save the game

4 RepliesI’m buying the September because I enjoyed Warmind.

4 RepliesI know I'm not pre-ordering anything anymore... and I'm an ardent pre-orderer. D2 broke that habit for me. I hope that DLC3 is actually good. I think it should be slightly better than Taken King. Whether it will be or not will be seen. Bungie has all of the feedback and data and experience to understand what we want, it's just up to them to execute. I also hope that pre-orders are terrible. I don't hope that because of bitterness or anything like that. It just seems to me that Bungie needs a real good smack in the face to realize that people aren't going to buy their BS hype anymore. They have to execute and deliver. I love their game, and I want to play it without getting the feeling that I'm wasting my time.

5 RepliesI totally go along with this. Taken King, House of Wolves, the April update, SRL, the Dawning (2016-17), and the Warmind expansion patch have told me that Bungie can improve their game significantly. The special ammo nerf, Festival of the Cost, the Dawning (2017-18), and D2 itself taught me that Bungie is equally capable of ruining or compromising their game, or of abusing their players with RNG lootboxes. No more sight unseen preorders. I will wait until DLC3 has been released and reviewed, maybe even watch a few YouTube vids on it. Then I will make a decision.

9 RepliesStill better then PubG and Fortnite, call of duty, battlefield, online gaming isnt in the best place in general right now.

2 RepliesBump. The destruction of the story was bad enough. But the absolutely atrocious, almost juvenile dialogue between npc's and ghost (cuz we STILL don't have a voice) is insulting to anyone who has ever enjoyed a decent story anywhere.
-
Already planning on pre ordering it the moment it drops. People definitely over dramatize how "bad" destiny is when thats nowhere near the actual case.
-
1 ReplyAll aboard the hype train for DLC Comet. Per -order to get your custom new (albeit still nerfed) JELLYHORN!!! Watch the money fall off the sheep.
-
5 RepliesAnyone else notice that DTR took down the daily login numbers? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
-
not only will i not pre-order, i will wait 3 weeks for all the reviews to come in. If the game is trash then they won't get a cent of my hard earned money. It better be specfackingtacular with 20+ missions and tons of stuff to last at least 8 months. If its a 8 hour DLC like the last 2 then bye felicia.

Will buy in Dec when its less than half price

7 RepliesI mean.... People said the exact same thing about Taken King. Like this comment: "even though they are in Damage Control mode and desperately trying to put bandaids on the game to make it somewhat playable, none of the real major issues have been fixed. Patches and updates can't keep up with other studios and only once their hand was forced did they start talking to the community. " Is literally something people said NEAR LAUNCH of house of wolves. Just like now. I specifically remember it.

25 RepliesEdited by Cosmic Zaa: 5/15/2018 3:43:11 PMThe next dlc is the obly one worth preorderig to me. Similar to Taken King. If it were another small dlc i wouldnt, but this one is important to me. I want this one and Bungie has been fixing things people want, so im content with it.
-
11 RepliesIf you already have low expectations for the fall, why the -blam!- are you still here? I can't believe how much time people spend on things they dislike. What a bunch of -blam!-ing morons. Why would u keep checking on Bungies game if they have hurt you sooo much, did so many unforgivable things? WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?
-
4 RepliesSorry Destiny addict here if there are pre-order bonuses I'm a buying
-
20 Replies
DLC3 - The one that will show players don't trust Bungie anymore
You people do this with every DLC. Why is DLC3 different all of a sudden?
-
2 Replies#bungiecanthidefromseptember No way do they make a commercial good enough to pretend they finally learned their way. They ran out of hail Mary's and maybe next times. This time the full force of their wallets being empty will speak loud enough I believe the will Finally Be Listening..
-
3 RepliesThe next expansion is gonna be like the taken king in terms of size and honestly, I think people are still gonna buy it even though they know how disappointing the game was at launch. The people who don't play the game right now and talk Sh** about it all the time are still fans of the franchise and want D2 to be a good game. They still want it to succeed which it will do when the comet drops.
-
1 ReplyI'm a new player just maxed to 20, I don't get all the hate to Bungie, all the ranting like this after buying the game? Is it worth it to keep ranting than stop playing the game?? What's the problem?
-
1 ReplyHonestly I feel a lot of games suffer the same fate I don’t think it is them but the publisher in this case “activition” more than likely setting impossible deadlines for them ..... it’s unfortunate.
-
3 RepliesPay no attention to the I do not care post that litter the forums. Because not caring is one of the reasons the game is at a decline and Bungie keeps screwing up Just for the record sales are not fine and Bungie knows it any person that can read can tell that. Or any person that can see Just look at your friends list or your clan how man players are active and playing the game ( don't worry I'll wait ). When was the last time they logged in to play. Lets face it a lot of players left when they found out all of their hard work for the first years were going to be left behind. Out of a 150 friends I lost 50-60 then the ones that stayed got pissed when curse of Osiris was not what they expected. Even more left a few days into warmind when they found out about the leveling system. So others may not care about your post but I bet Bungie does. So keep posting and forget who cares or not.

3 RepliesEdited by Make U Meow: 5/16/2018 1:52:49 PMBy the time DLC 3 comes we will have spent like what, $160 or so? That's the equivalent of purchasing 3 games yet D2 has the same amount of content as a happy meal.
