Mars was terraformed by the Traveler just like all the other planets in the solar system. They all should have breathable atmospheres.

I dont get why any guardians need to wear helmets for anything other than not getting shot in the head. We're technically dead already and we don't need to breath or eat.

Zavala and Sloan didn't wear helmets on that titan cutscene. Sloan still doesn't. Ikora didn't wear one on io. Asher Mir doesn't wear one.
