Should I spend $20 on the Warmind update?
From what I gather, this update doesn't add anything meaningful to the Destiny 2 experience. It seems to more of the same half-assed laziness from Bungie. The loot is undesirable, the buffs/nerfs are illogical, the "new" content is recycled/reskinned, the story/lore is lackluster, and the game offers no genuine incentive to keep playing.
My friends keep blabbering about how awesome this update is without giving any in-depth context of it, except that Exotics are fun to use now. On the other hand, the community on Bungie forums, YouTube, Reddit, etc. hasn't really changed its tune. So is this update even worth $20, or should I just give up on this franchise completely?

Story is short and no better than anything we’ve seen. Light grind is backish- I got to 366 with some planned leveling so I assume I’ll be 375+ this next week 2 different collectible things that unlock weapons and vanity items. Exotic weapons got reworked and are pretty fun to use now. Raid lair seems pretty fun and replayable so far (haven’t beat the final boss) EP are really fun but a pain to get a group together. A few weeks I think it’ll be more manageable as you’ll need fewer people. If you like raids, grinding light level or you like secret type quests and collectibles I’d get it. If you don’t raid you will level up really slow and will have trouble accessing activities like EP and even heroic strikes for the first few weeks.

2 RepliesI would start playing D2 first as you have no linked game account to your forum profile. Once you have got to the Farm you will be able to move this post to #Destiny2 as #Help is for players with problems with D1/D2. As for your question the choice is up to you as it is your taste in games that should decide. Ps. The update was for all D2 players not just those with Warmind dlc.
