Upvote if you’re tired of streamers controlling this game.

Just trying to get BUNGO to realize it’s not the very low percentage of streamers that pay their bills. It’s the massive amount of regular players that play and pay to keep their huge salaries where they are. How about have a summit with a random pool of regular Joe’s? Or are they afraid of what they might actually learn? • Remember when Bungie announced 4v4 only Crucible, the dual primary weapons system, and longer ability recharge rates. We on the forums were up in arms. Meanwhile, the streamers were reporting from the launch event that the changes looked great. If the streamers are the only voice Bungie hears, this game is done for.

    • Hey! Bungie said they're your "community leaders". They are the most trusted people there are playing this game. They always think about others They always give great advice They even took one for the team and braved the "Community summit" where there wasn't one single community member there to here your voice. They never do paid carries They never over hype the game They never ever ask you to subscribe They never think their opinion is more important then yours They always know whats the best interest for the game They always think about both aspects of the game They never take "gifts" because they have self respect They never lie about what is actually going on with the game and company How could anyone Ever think they are controlling this game? That is the most foolish thing I have ever read.

          • Seriously??? Are there anymore streamers that even bother with this game anymore? I miss the days of D1 streamers. I spent hundreds in the Bungie Store in hoodies, pins and emblems, never got an engram stress set but I tried...haven’t visited the bungie store since D2 release and don’t care to.

I suppose and it’s very logical for Bungie to get feedback from those who have thousands if not hundreds off thousand subscribers!

          • I have literally never watched a single streaming video but I'm going to now because of this thread. How in the hell could you say someone making money off of playing videogames is dumb? Don't hate, congratulate. Why should Bungie listen to people who don't know what they are doing? I would never pay someone to carry me but if someone can make money doing that instead of driving a -blam!-ing Uber then more power to them.

          • I've seen videos about how to raise your light level, one normal raid, one prestige raid, nightfall, other stuff. Seriously? I'm not going through that BS. I don't get paid to play this game. Most weeks I can't get a raid or a nightfall done for a lack of time and/or ability to get into a fireteam when I do have the time. I used to find heroics to be fun as all get out, I'd just sit in the playlist and just go through them over and over. I did 5 heroics for sleeper, they aren't worth it anymore. Harder than the nightfalls, with the same rewards they had previously, so why bother? Normal strikes? I'm glad they now allow the option to get the DLC strikes in the playlist, but I liked where heroics were at before warmind dropped. Crucible changes? Don't care. If I ever bother with crucible, it's just to handle call to arms via quickplay matches. I got better devils and now I just don't care. My main issue with warmind is what happened to heroics. They were in a good place for average players like me, I'm sitting at power level 345 or so after the first week. The heroics had a good balance before, but the modifiers just make things impossible in many cases. Iron is active? Nope, nothing happening today. Glass? Nope. Blackout? Anything but Garden world and exodus down is sorta possible. I get that there needed to be challenge in a strike playlist, but don't add it at the expense of what was working for others. Make it optional.

          • The progression of Warmind has ZERO to do with the Summit and everything to do with 7 months of feedback on these forums, on Reddit, on Twitter and on YouTube complaining that there was no grind, that leveling didn't matter, that power level didn't matter. It's been 4 days. 4 DAYS So after 7 months of people complaining that they got everything in a week when D2 launched, here we are with a forum full of posts ripping Bungie because people aren't leveled up where they want after 4 DAYS. I get that there are legitimate complaints like Heroic Strike drops, but to sit here and act like the vocal forum community as a whole didn't scream for change is disingenuous. My suggestion would be to instead of putting up posts just ripping Bungie like everyone loves to do so much, to try actually giving constructive feedback on what works and what doesn't for how you play and if that's solo, with friends, whatever, let them know. It's also funny that literally 2 weeks ago these forums were FULL of people ripping solo players for wanting meaningful endgame and here we are 2 weeks later ripping Bungie for being too punishing on solo players. It's no win ever on here for anyone.

            • I don't think the summit comment of the OP was in direct relation to the DLC. And I do agree that Bungie as a whole failed in understanding what made Destiny 1 fun despite its frustrations, and completely failed to take any of that into Destiny 2. But it is true that the so called "Influencers" have become a poisonous influence on game development in general. Take the new Crucible. It's 4v4. I hate it. This is just my opinion, and I respect and acknowledge other people liking it, but I am not one. I hate it with a vengeance, as it takes ALL the fun out of playing Crucible for me (as a mostly solo player who likes to flank and not run around in one blob). The reason they did it, at least in my opinion, is because the best of the best of the competitive PvP players said that that's the way it should be. Less laggy connections, easier to play than 3v3, etc. Apparently there were Destiny 1 tournaments and 4v4 was the gold standard. And because a lot of people follow these PvP legends on their social media channels and streams (and because Bungie and Activision maybe wanted to slice into that sweet e-sports pie), they thought it was a good idea to just force a setup that was considered "the best for competitive PvP tournaments" on everyone. In fact, their almost obsessive behavior to try and create a balanced PvP experience ruined much of the game and its allure for PvE: slower recharge rates; OSK weapons now all need power ammo; no more armor stat effects affecting recharge etc.; no more RPG elements in your characters upgrade path (which is now done by armor); and, of course, no more random loot rolls on loot, so no more god rolls. All of which seems to be aimed at creating as even a playing field as possible for everyone in PvP, while keeping their PvE equipment unmodified. If you look at it, that one reason chews a bloody path through all the changes people don't like... Well, most people don't like them. Competitive PvP players might have rejoiced. As to the Progression System, I understand what they were trying to do, but I do not agree with going from one extreme to the opposite extreme. And of course, I do not agree with loot from 350 activities dropping at 340. That just boggles the mind. But where there is a point to be made about the streamers and their summit having an unwholesome influence, it's that these people have the time to play a lot, they have the skills/tine to beat most of the game's hardest things, and, and that's maybe the most important thing, they have steady groups of people to play with. As such, their perspective on what is a reasonable effort to gain light levels past 340 is horribly skewed as opposed to us mere mortals. If I had a fixed group of motivated and skilled players that would allow me to run a Nightfall, Trials, and the Raid and its Laura every week, plus the prestige versions, I wouldn't mind the new gating, either. But most people don't have the luxury. And while that was the same in Destiny 1, there you at least had something to do, even if you didn't do Endgame. You upgraded weapons, you got loot with different rolls looking for that one piece to perfectly for your playstyle, you could replay the campaign missions, play the strikes, could get special loot from heroic strikes, could have fun in 6v6 Crucible without feeling like someone had tied lead weights to your ankles... Sure, some of these things were arduous and frustrating, but they gave you an undeniable sense of progression. When you finally got that god roll weapon, you had to upgrade it to unlock them. And you had choices, so much freedom compared to D2, it's crazy... So. Yes. Bungie failed in understanding what made Destiny 1 so addictive. And, or so it seems, they took feedback predominantly from a very small percentage of players, and changed things in the assumption that these people were representative of the whole playing community. But in addition to that, they also tried to make Destiny less of a chore. And managed at the same time to rid the game of most of that feeling of individuality and personal progress that kept people playing. I wish they would take a look at Warframe and how they handle their weapons progression (you get a new gun, you level it up to enhance it, once it's at full level, you can prestige it to make it even better - and everything you do is progress in that direction, even if you kill something with your other weapon, you get some XP, and everything you do progresses you further). But they thought they knew what people wanted, and seem to be too prideful to really change fundamental principles of what they thought people wanted...

              • Youre implying, with this post, that there is an illuminati-esque group of streamers that gather to decides destinys fate. When in reality, they get about as much attention as people posting on the feedback forum or the offical reddit. Streamers are just gamers with a camera, they get invited to play betas because bungie knows thats the best way for their fans and the fellow community to hear the word about what theyre working on. They arent catering to streamers, honestly streamers usually preach for the same changes i see asked for on this forum, the only difference is the way they present it. They actually make videos regarding changes with strong arguments and a lot of actual data. Look at a video regarding why clever dragon should have been nerfed in D1, there were videos showing its effective ranges, its DPS spread, and translated it in a way that was interesting enough to warrant a 30 minute video. Now compare that to a post on the forum regarding the same topic... youll see people claiming "Clever dragons op, it one shot me on Last Light in trials from across the map" they offer no real information or exaggerated information, no evidence, and in a lot of posts their feedback is 1 paragraph long, with half of it dedicated to dissing bungies employees.

                • i agree. we have a bunch of folk who play the game as a job, who have no issues with getting groups all week long to grind multiple raids/ trials etc.. (and thus get to max right quik and easy) saying slow it down and make it harder for the rest of us. you cant balance a game around these people they are a fraction of the demographic who play the game.

                    • You do have a point, but consider bungo's target demographic. All the filthy casuals will adopt whatever the streamer shepherds tell them. Good things coming? Bright future? Amazing beautiful things? All the sheep need is someone they trust. We speak longingly of the event horizon when the casuals get bored and leave, but will it happen? Bungo seems irritatingly adept at holding their attention with hollow promises and half finished content.

                      • You know I feel we shouldn’t separate ourselves from each other? Why draw lines because a company doesn’t want to recognize us “normal” people? Let us appreciate content creators as well as the average joe and Bungie can do what they want. Why? Because like you said it is the majority that pay their bills not a minority of content creators. The way I view content creators is this, they have a platform. They can shift the narratives of the masses of people connected to their channels or twitch profiles. What us “normal people” should be looking to, is not getting at Bungie directly but getting to them through the content creators. If Bungie wants to listen to them we should target the content creators. . In war if you are losing the best way to change trajectories is change positioning. Come from left field. “Appear weak when you are strong and strong when you are weak.” You want to produce change? You want to shift the scene? You want a way in? You change positions. MOVE. . Start engaging with the content creators. Tell them where they are going wrong in your eyes. If they do not want to listen move on to the next one and the next until one does want to listen. Do not draw lines with these people. Join their ranks and do it subtly and in care and tenderness. Do it with fervor and fire. . The truth is this isn’t about a game. It’s time to change things in the world. The regular people have been silenced for too long and in order to be heard we need to shift our plans for the better and for the common good OF EVERYONE. Evolve. Become superior out of choice and wit. Does this make any sense to anyone else? Does it? Is anyone -blam!-ing listening out there? Or will this fall on deaf ears?

Not grinding levels for months The progression, loot, vendor, faction, exotics, and strike loot systems should have carried over from D1. This isn't WoW, it's a FPS.
