Black Screen on Startup - Windows 10 x64 1803 17134.48, nVidia 397.64
The new nVidia drivers came out, and while I thought that would solve the issue, it does not. Even optimized for Destiny 2 Warmind, they don't fix the main issue of the black screen of death.
My only "fix" is to move the game window to a second display and use that instead to play the game, but I don't fancy using a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard to play the game, as a laptop is sort of hard to seperate the keyboard from it and turning my head to see the TV. A controller would be my only solution, but I am not a person who plays shooters with a controller.
I do have an Optimus setup, which is both an intel and nVidia GPU in the same system. I can't disable the intel chipset in bios, that would make everything break.
I can't downgrade to Windows 10 x64 1709.
This is the ONLY game I have that has this behavior. It does need to be fixed.

Same problem. My config is : Intel Core I7 3.5Ghz 16 GB ram NVidia GTX 980 TI My screen reboot itself non stop untill I disconect from windows or restart the computer.

1 ReplyUpdate 19-05-2018 Bungie has yet to fix their mistake. Still the black screen, and I refuse to backroll my windows for their incompetence, nor will I fiddle with an external screen. No update on what they are doing about it. Therefore this is the last Bungie game I ever bought. Byebye 1 more customer. Incompetence will not be rewarded.

2 Repliesi think this is the same thing for me i start the game but when i try to load to thee character screen my screen just blacks out isnt happening with any other game and i cant record it happening because the only way to get my computer out of it is to force shut down my computer.

I found a probable workaround to the problem for the ones who don't want to downgrade windows 10, Ver.1803, it involves change some BIOS setting to make your system run only wiht your dedicated GPU ( Assuming your BIOS supports this option) learn more on the topic i created: [url]https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/245084834?sort=0&page=0[/url]

Same problem. I hadn't played Destiny 2 in months, but decided to give it another go since the new content was coming out. A quick reminder of the type of garbage this game was.

You'll have to wait for a windows update to play the game or you have to reinstall fresh windows 1709 if you cannot roll back. I reinstalled windows 1709 and it works just fine now

same issue. windows 10 1803 added a option to choose graphics card on laptop, maybe this cause the problem. and no other games have this problem..........

Same issues, reinstalling the game didn't help either. maybe theres a directory somewhere that we gotta delete adn then reinstall?
