let's find the legendary/alternate ending...

bungie confirmed the legendary ending (skip to 12:47)

but apparently there is none, so far all the endings on all the difficulties are the same.
i'm calling it the alternate ending now, because if it exists, it doesn't have anything to do with just beating the game on legendary.

Some Possibilities?
BOBS- The nickname bungie has given to a special class of Elites in campaign mode. They are Ranger type elites with golden armor (picture: [url]http://www.haloreachplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/lead-image-spec-op-golden-elite1.jpg[/url]. They are assumed to be in all campaign levels. The ones that have been found are listed in this thread: [url]http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=50377939&v iewreplies=true[/url]
NOTE: We are pretty sure we've found all the BOBS and they don't do anything yet, maybe something later with DLC?
HIDDEN SWITCHES: Hidden switches have been found on some campaign levels. Some of these activate easter eggs, others appear to do nothing. Maybe there are 7 to be found (of the ones that don't do anything)?
UPDATE-Hidden Switches on Sword Base activate warthog race minigame.
UPDATE-Hidden Switches on The Package make 4 banshees appear. The point of these banshees is still unknown.
UPDATE-Hidden Switches on New Alexandria let you fly a pelican.

Why Hasn't It Been Found By Hackers?

"And for those saying "Hackers will have found the legendary ending by now!" they wouldn't have, heres why. The game makes cut scenes using in game resources, in this case your armor.
Supposing the ending is an eagles landing on your helmet. Instead of bungie creating 80+ pre-rendered cinematics they simply have a script or a set action to follow for shading, color, etc."

This might be a glitch , but it might be something else... I've DIED on LW. By myself, offline, before I could set up my internet XBL settings. However, It was the first time iv'e played reach since my red ring and the disc was really scratched up. When I mean I've died, I went below red health before the cutscene played. I really hope this helps, and BTW i fixed my connection today, but haven't played any reach yet.

100% agree. This thread has no use anymore. People don't know what has been done already because it is unrealistic to have to search through 358 pages. Also I am surprised that they havn't already made a group for this...

[u][b]This thread needs to be LOCKED.[/b][/u] Just here me out. For those of you who are truly aiming to find this "alternate ending", this thread is no longer the place to consolidate to find it. It's become a disorganized mess. Every few pages (maybe every 100 posts or so) the same information just keeps getting repeated. No one wants to scroll through 350+ pages of info, so the same stuff keeps getting posted over and over again, most of it either proven wrong already or just an echo of a previous theory. The best option at this point would be to create a special group for it and organize the separate theories in its own forum. That way you guys can actually work toward a real goal rather than constantly chasing your tales in the same circle over and over again. I believe that a link to the group should be in the OP, and the OP should continue to be pinned, but also locked to discourage people from posting here and leading them to the group instead. Does anyone else agree? -Tyrant

i bet he would be even more so if it was solved through his thread! ^^ but im starting to wonder why bungie and co. wont say annything. i mean, if there is no ending after some years people will give up this search and it would kinda have left a bad impression, that after so manny games they left their last one without legendary ending, kinda unfinished. maybe its suposed to be like this, maybe its support that there has to be one. in the end i just hope peoples work will not have been in vain, and if not existing jet, there is one in production being updated in the end. (end, ist still being updated so theres time to disappoint us! XD)
