Destiny 2 has been crashing for nearly two weeks now, there is no predictability for when it will crash. It can range from the title screen to 2-3 hours of gameplay. It wasn't until the update today I started receiving error codes for the crash, mine is error code: broccoli. I have looked through the forums for fixes and none of them work. I have tried deleting the cvars file, closed all other applications besides destiny, uninstalled and reinstalled both battle.net and destiny 2. I removed my gpu monitoring software and that offered a temporary fix that lasted maybe three hours. I turned of xmp in the bios and that yielded no results. I have tried adjusting the in-game video settings to no avail. I even tried reverting my graphics drivers to a previous version that I knew worked with destiny. I never had any issues until 2 weeks ago and it has been infuriating, I have failed countless strikes, nightfalls, missions, and raids due to this issue.

i think if your running rx 580 its about time to upgrade. its no longer powerful enough to run it.

Ever since the switch to Steam i've been getting the broccoli error. Now however i can't even play the game as it just crashes a couple minutes into opening the game.

1 ReplyI am currently having the same issue. I've tried reinstalling the GPU Driver, reinstalling all 93 GBs of Destiny 2 game files, downloaded MSI afterburner and bumped my GPU fan speed up 50%, tried the Bungie "Scan and Repair" option in the game menu and NONE OF THAT WORKED. I can't even play a full match of Crucible. I'm running a goddamn EVGA GeForce GTX 1080ti for Christ's sake, WTF is this BROCCOLI garbage?! Anybody have a fix for this?

Edited by X3DGamer: 2/14/2019 2:48:31 AMWell I hate to say it, but my RX580 needed +15mv extra per state to be stable with Destiny 2. I even tried a resolution of 4864x2736 and it was stable running around 30fps with a power limit of 105w. Let's see what happens...

1 ReplyHi all, the issue does still exist. Non of the tips worked. I put my nvidia driver in debug mode I disabled all overlays I stopped Afterburner I have latest Nvidia drivers and fully updated OS (Windows 10 64 1809) I have reset my gfx settings in Destiny2 So i am at the end of my wisdom here. The last thing I did is updating to latest nvidia drivers cause of upgrade my gfx card to 2080ti. It is btw. the only game that crashes and it is not even very demanding on the gfx card. I also tried gfx settings high with no success. CPU: Intel RAM:32GB@2400 GPU: Gainward RTX 2080 Ti Phoenix GS - not even overclocked in any way. TU102 A1 I did a fresh driver install of the latest driver (417.71 WHQL) Non of the other games have any issues at all. Please help.

1 ReplyJust to add to this. I have a Asus gtx 1080 turbo, with +170 core and +365 ram. I was getting constant brocolli crashes. I reset my GPU clocks and it instantly fixed the errors. It (for me anyway) is definately overclocking. I wonder if those who say their cards are not overclocked, are running factory overclocked cards. In which case you could try downclocking your GPU to match the Nvidia or AMD stock clocks for the card. Also I would recommed setting your GPU power management settings to Maximum performance, rather than optimal. Good luck.

Edited by X3DGamer: 12/22/2018 9:57:35 PMI don't know about everyone else, but my undervolted RX480 was drawing extreme amounts GPU power while in character and ship menus... this would increase the temp of the GPU / VRMs and it would ultimately lead to a crash at some point. A framerate limiting helped to keep GPU power in check and fixing the problem, but it's not the answer. Bungie please look into capping frame rate during those menus or find another fix please. My new stress test is Destiny's 2 character menu at 200% scaling and no framerate cap. I just sit back and watch the GPU / VRMs heat up :)

Destiny is well known for overheating the GPU. I opted for two extra fans on the side to keep the gpu nice and cool and that fixed broccoli.

Did you ever fix your error, I just went over to PC and I was having the same issue, My set up is almost like yours and I run the same GPU. I had the wrong version of the firmware downloaded. I redownloaded the AMD drivers and used this: Driver Packaging Version 18.30.19.01-180925a-334122C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin it is the drivers before the last update...I think it was 18.12...something. So I used the one before that one and it solved my problem completely.

I have been experiencing the same issue since i bought my new card (xfx 590 oc(not overclocked) ) .It throws me the Broccoli code error, i kill the game via task manager, and after a bit the whole screen goes black (and i cannot hear any talking in discord) and after 3-5 seconds it comes back (and my monitor shows me at the bottom right that i'm dvi connected). That's extremely annoying and i can't seem to find a hotfix, even tried to set all things to low, nothing changed.PLEASE BUNGIE

1 ReplyI allowed Geforce Experience to tune the graphics, that solved Broccoli for me. Alienware 17Mx Intel i7-4710MQ @ 2.5GHz 16GB RAM Nvidia GTX 880M Win 10 x64

Hey man! Yeah i have insisted and posted several times and Bungie have only answered "yeah we see, thanks". The only thing that helped me was to enable the debug mode on nvidia menu. Obv i got rid of my oc -.-' System specs: CPU: ryzen 7 1700x RAM: 16gb @ 3200 mhz GPU: gtx 1080ti ftw3 evga

I had the same problem, tried anything that i could find on forums, didn't work. (Under clocking, debug mode, v-sync, reinstalling,...) I've been able to fix this now with MSI Afterburner, just by turning fan speed up to 60 %. Been playing for hours now and it hasn't crashed since i made the adjustments. Hope this helps.

2 RepliesI was getting this error when at 1920 x 1080 with an i7 4770k, 8GB RAM and a nVidia 770. When I changed down to 1600 x 900 it's helped a lot with frames (getting over 100 generally now) and also not had a crash since! Good luck xx

2 RepliesWas this ever fixed? I am new to destiny on the pc and have just built a brand new rig. I am also running into this issue once I started the osiris DLC.
-
2 Repliesdoes anyone have an aswer to this that isnt "get rid of your overclock"? The game is unplayable on my laptops 1050ti without my OC
-
2 RepliesSame error, my gpu drivers are the latest btw System Specs i7 8700k GTX 1070 16GB RAM Gigabyte GA-Z370 Aorus Gaming 5 The Bungie recommendation to fix this problem is useless.... xD

What fixed the problem for me was disabling SLI in the NVIDIA settings and only running one GPU when running Destiny 2. I used to get the code every time I played but now I haven't had a single problem for a week. After, you may need to lower your graphics settings to where the single card can run it but it's worth it. System Specs CPU: i5 7600k @4.1ghz Motherboard: ASUS ROG Z270G Ram: 8gb GPU: GTX 670 SLI

3 RepliesEdited by AssassinX: 8/21/2018 4:18:11 AMOnly Fix I know of for this is putting NVIDIA Drivers into Debug Mode! Helping Spread the word to fix this! I know its frustrating. https://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=59594 This declocks the OC to stock NVIDIA Graphics card settings....GG Bungie you monkeys.... Happened since Warmind update apparently.

3 RepliesAnyone still having this issue, I just played for four hours without issue. It was evga precision x for me. I disabled all my overclock settings back to standard and in settings unchecked it from starting with windows, I installed msi afterburner and used it instead, set my overclocks and went on my way. So far so good! I'll update if I run into the issue any more.

1 ReplyI started having this a couple weeks ago as well. I was not getting any message until a few minutes ago I got the broccoli message. It was freezing at loading screens but this time it actually froze during the orbit animation while flying to a destination. Anyway, I've tried all this stuff too, to no avail. Really frustrating. Hope it's resolved before the end of the month at least... 980ti hybrid (water cooled) SLI i7 4790k @ 4.6 water cooled 16 gb ram win 10
