Is there any point to saving exotic engrams right now? Should I wait a bit when the dlc comes out before Turning them in? Or will it not work that way?

Save it.

I'm pretty sure in one of the twabs they said saving engrams won't work this time. Or that exotic engrams don't decrypt above your light level.
-
it worked in rise of iron back in D1, that's how i got the nemesis star. but i think bungie made it so it won't work in D2.
-
It worked for me when going into CoO. Some people claim it doesn't work, but I know the truth. Do what you want.

8 RepliesNo, we go through this every single time. Bungie confirmed this in 1986. THERE IS NO POINT IN SAVING ENGRAMS, It's as dumb as watching a "how to prep for the DLC" video 4 days before the DLC drops. Prepping starts as soon as there is no point in turning in and leveling up at vendors to get gear/weapons or get your power level up. Which was pretty much 5 months ago. So your prep should be 5 months worth of tokens, weapon parts & shards.

Jet Set Willy…..lost in time like tears in rain - old
It'll help with some Cryptarch rank, if that's getting brought back. I don't think you'll get any new or 335+ gear, but no harm in waiting a couple of days. -
Tokens, not engrams
-
It can’t hurt to wait. At the worst you’ll get old stuff

1 Replyim on two sides of the fence here. I have 6 to open on my titan. (I have insanely good luck on that guy) logic tells me, it wont work - because they are pre updated exotics so you will get whatever loot was available at the max PL of 330 from S1 and S2. thus season 3 will have its whole new Loot Pool. on the other hand, there is a chance that this will actually work. where the new loot pool is just dumped into the current exotics you have, and by some miracle it helps you level up faster.
-
I don't know how engrams work, but your reasoning sounds logical. I'm not going to hold on to any engrams but I have been saving tokens, shards, Masterworks cores, etc for quite a while.
-
Nah man.
-
2 RepliesThe real question is, is there any point in turning them in now? I think most of us had every exotic available from engrams months ago, so turning them in now is utterly pointless.
-
There no point. Both logically and if you want to have something to grind for until September...
Don't rush.
-
There's no point bud
-
3 RepliesItem powerlevel is determined upon engram acquisition, no longer on decryption. There's a chance they drop all the new gear in the pool but it won't help you levelling quicker.
-
1 ReplyYou have nothing to loose keeping them and see how it goes tuesday ;)
-
1 ReplyNo. Don't be stupid and make the grind as quick as possible
-
2 RepliesThe real question is: What's the point of turning them in now?
-
I wish. I would be trying to get the SUROS Regime the first chance I get. I loved that gun.
-
Some say it will work, some say it will not. I mean honestly if you don't need them what is the worst that will happen. They decrypt into stuff from before the DLC, which is what will happen now.
-
No. You got them before a new update comes out. Bungie would have to update all the engrams that already dropped for you to get something new.
-
Engrams, no. They are somewhat predetermined upon when they drop.
-
As far as I know you will have a chance at getting new exotics which would be nice. I'm saving up mine
