I have been hearing a lot of this and I am not so big on the lore and how did the comic break the lore?

5 Replies<In D1, the Grimoire said that Osiris had a private chat with the Speaker after his views were deemed heretical. He left exiled. In D2, CoO lore tabs reveal that there was an entire meeting without Osiris even present. How Ikora quickly turned against Osiris and how the Speaker appointed her as the new Warlock Vanguard. They also said Osiris would be banished from the City. If you combine D1 and D2 lore, the private meeting could've taken place after this one. In FoO2, the meeting was there, but Osiris was present (break 1), CHOOSING to leave (break 2). While Ikora still led the charge against him, most of this particular issue breaks most of the dialogue and lore tabs of D2. This isn't about building theories from D1. It's about D2, which everyone likes to throw the retcon argument against, even being broken by FoO, which was meant to back it up. It's also why I consider FoO 2 non-canon.>

This is quite a worrying subject, to be fair. The continuity and integrity of the Lore in this game is paramount, I think. When things get redacted and retconned from anything, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially when it's done to something like Destiny, which is something I really care for. I hope this is cleared up by Bungie.

5 RepliesIt didnt. People spent three years theory crafting & accepting what they heard, so they couldn't handle having their assumptions challenged.
