Up Front Edit: I agree with a lot of you that Bungie is likely using the data from the Control-only Iron Banners to evaluate how things are working in PvP. That's fine, but if that's the case, why the hell don't they just SAY THAT? For most of us, that would be a perfectly acceptable explanation for the decision to make IB exclusively Control (for now). In fact, it would be welcomed by many of us as a sign they are really working to improve the game by using some quantitative analysis of our gameplay. This company has had a problem telling us the truth from the very beginning, and it appears they still struggle with it.

I know this is a little dated...
From Last Week's TWaB:
"While we continue to evaluate the feedback and data from the last Iron Banner Control with 6v6, we've heard two messages very clearly. Having more opportunities to play 6v6 is highly desired and Control remains the most popular mode for 6v6. As such, you can expect Iron Banner to feature 6v6 Control exclusively moving into Season 3."
What? Iron Banner will be nothing but Control?
Where is the Bungie poll showing that Control is the overwhelming favorite of Iron Banner players? I've seen a lot of polls over the years, and Clash was the consistent favorite mode of D1 players. And if Control isn't the OVERWHELMING favorite of players - but is simply the favorite of the majority (like, 51%) - then does that justify throwing baby-Clash out with the bathwater? Hell no, that'd be -blam!-ing stupid. (I remind myself who I am dealing with, here. smh)
Even if I am wrong, and Control is VERY popular with D2 players, why is the Iron Banner exclusively Control? Isn't the IB supposed to be a test of Guardians' skill? Wouldn't that be tested more effectively across more than a single game mode? And, aren't the D2 maps awfully small for Control?
Why not rotate between Clash and Control (everyone hates Supremacy, so it's a no brainer to exclude that POS mode)? Seems like laziness, Bungie, that you are trying to cover-up by claiming you're listening to the Community and giving us our favorite game mode. I don't buy it one bit.
I just don't understand why, at a time when they should be working HARD to retain players, Bungie further limits players' options in one of the few remaining events with even a sliver of enjoyable replayability. Thoughts?
Vote.
