  • I'm having some trouble with item placement in Forge as well, hoping you or someone else can lend a hand. Seems that when I place a few particular weapons, others spawn in their place during game play. Sword = Plasma pistol Concussion rifle = Needle rifle Needler = Magnum Also, I downloaded a re-do of "Turf" and instead of a Warthog, a Mongoose vehicle was in it's place. I went in to forge to change it, and a Warthog was there. I have tried to make sure that game specifics are turned off, and otherwise settings are correct, so I'm stumped. Is Forge busted or does it have bugs? Help appreciated.

  • Is there a way to make turrets show up in Infection games? I'm creating a fortress style map, and there are supposed to be a couple of turrets. I've tried setting the advanced properties for the turrets, just about everything I can think of, but when I try it out in an actual game, they aren't showing up. I can get individual weapons to work just fine, but not the turrets. Is there something I'm missing, or are turrets just not available for infection maps?

    So Im trying to set up my initial destination for my RR map. You know, like the center point on Valhalla, Standoff, etc thats the first one of the match before it goes random. Im having issues. In H3, youd set your first destination at respawn order 0, then the rest at 1 (or whatever you wanted). 0 was always first. That doesn't work in Reach though. I also tried setting the first one to 1, then the rest at 2, still no luck. Even setting the first one to either 0 or 1 with all other destinations at a negative value (-1) doesnt work. I'm not sure what to do. There are new destination spawning options in Reach though. You can choose "fair" or "random." The default RR gametype in MM has it set to fair. But even toggling between the two doesnt seem to affect the first destination. I also tried ordering them 0-8, and 1-9. Nothing.

  • Yo, I'm having an issue here. I'm trying to setup a map for team slayer, and I want to use respawn zones. The problem is, they don't work. I've set one to blue team, and two to red team. I've tried using every game label available when editing under slayer. Nothing's working. I've checked other maps with respawn zones, set my to the exact same settings, and got nothing. Help please. I don't know what I'm doing wrong =/

  • If this is the wrong forum, please direct me to the right one. Will Bungie make an undo feature for forging? Will Bungie make a lock feature so that you cannot accidentally change a forged object's orientation? Will Bungie make the falcon able to transport the objective carrier? Will Bungie come out with a fast attack boat that can transport a pilot, a gunner, and an objective carrier over water? Also, will Bungie add an aggregate feature where multiple objects can be grouped together and moved, rotated, etc. as one object? Will Bungie come out with a copy mechanism for said aggregate objects? Can Bungie remove the restrictions on how many of any class of objects are available and make simply one global limit for all objects used? One last item that I think would really help, make the object that is being pointed to blink or brighten so that you know with certainty if you are pointing to the object you want to grab or move. What am I doing wrong?[/quote]I am by no means good at Forging (especially not in Reach), but you may want to check the spawn sequence. if it's set wrong, it may not think you want the vehicles to spawn at the start and you actually want them to wait until the next round. Have you tried deleting and recreating the objects in Forge? That usually works all right for me. Sorry if that's a silly question, but it never hurts to check.

  • I am making a Race map where you spawn with Ghosts but can have the option of getting out and flying a Banshee. But whenever I play my Map in Custom Games any vehicles that I have placed on the map (including the banshees) don't spawn. I have set the game type options so that vehicles on the map are Map Default. But whenever I end the game while in a custom game the vehicles suddenly spawn immediately after I end it. What am I doing wrong?

I was only trying it in forge and not custom games. As far as shooting goes, the fusion coils would just be placed in air, dropped, and explode automatically (from the fall damage). No shooting. The propane tanks I would simply place on the ground and shoot them until they would zoom off and explode on their time delay zoomy explosion animation. All IN forge. I actually have a similar problem with killballs -> they seem to despawn after a certain amount of time and/or after falling into water DURING custom games, but in forge they just stick around forever. It is sort of throwing off my expectations of what I make in forge and what really happens in game, but I will soon get use to it. Post my findings tomorrow. [Edited on 10.06.2010 1:40 PM PDT]

  • Thanks. I couldn't really find the answer to this anywhere, and maybe it's a bug. I tried spawning fusion coils in the air. I set the physics to normal, as opposed to phased or fixed. They fall out of the air and explode. They respawn where they exploded, not where they were placed. If I put them as fixed or phased, they of course do not fall. I've had the same issue with propane tanks that I've placed ON THE GROUND. When I shoot them, they zoom across the map and explode. Then respawn WHERE they exploded, not on the ground where they were originally placed. If this is by design, how do I get around it? I've found "hax" (not really hacks but workarounds to get what I want, but it's a pain). Is this by design, or is it a bug? The propane tanks seem more like a bug to me then the fusion coil issue would be. On a quick side note, we need more safe zones placements (there are like 8 safe zones and like 32 kill zones). I made a big map and I don't have enough....placing killzones on the left, right, bottom, and top for every piece of land is a REAL pain and it's hard to get consistency.   • You don't But this is because CTF is or stealing from the other team, not fighting over a flag, that's called stockpile. Could use assault, place a bomb in the center and make the teams have to take it back to their base and defend it till it explodes, that could be fun.

  • Hey, maybe I'm just an idiot, I have never made a CTF map before so other than common sense, I don't know what it specifically needs... but... I'm on forge world... in the coliseum... I'm trying to make One flag CTF... i have the flag return, which is the flag stand.... I have a Res Zone, and a Res Zone Away, which are both respawn zones... And i put in a Capture plate and labeled it CTF because i assume you have to have a place to capture the flag... I no longer have issues with starting a game Here's my problem: I can't get the flag to spawn. It doesn't matter what team I'm on. Why? And how do i fix this?

  • This one is a Race Gametype question I see the option to make race teams but it wont allow me to switch it to enabled. basically what im trying to do is make a racing game with the same properties as rocket race (one driver, one gunner) How do you enable Loadouts on race for that matter? its a combat racing idea, and i need help figuring this out! Please help!!! And does a Warthog work aswell for 2 people? What does it do?[/quote] The capture plate is an item that you can apply labels such as ctf_flag_return or as_bomb_return to. Its not required but it looks nicer than just having a glowing box that you run into.
