None will ever top it.
Edit: I love the discussion going on. It's mostly friendly, and everyone is reminding me of other great strikes in D1, and even of some great ones in D2. Sepiks Prime is my favorite because of the feeling it gave me in the beta of D1. My cousin and I kept playing it for hours, over and over because of how fun it was. I expected every strike to be that fun and memorable. But nothing tops it to me.

Really fun as solo with full Warlock ress super

Anyone remember doing the Sepiks Nightfall during vanilla? Before anyone knew Jellyhorn was good :p
-
OMNIGUL FTW!!!
-
Sunless Cell will always be my favorite. It was my first solo nightfall.
-
OMG the Omnigul grind for grasp of Malok pulse rifle with a god roll.Oh the pain but i would do it all again in a heart beat

2 RepliesEdited by RingersCheckmate: 5/3/2018 3:32:05 PMWe’re talking about the same sepiks prime right? I mean, what’s the difference between Sepiks prime and Valus t’auric? You fight off three waves of enemies, then a tank, then a bigger version of an enemy you already fought with a nametag slapped onto it. My thoughts my first time running it were “really Bungie? This is the best you can do...?” I’ll be honest, I don’t know how you guys worship that stuff. It comes off as lazy and disappointing to me.
-
It's a good one, but my favs are Sunless Cell and Omnigul.
-
Always preferred the summoning pits out of the og strikes.

6 RepliesI disagree.
Those Fallen, in the Ishtar Sink on Venus? Story is they raided the Prison of Elders, got themselves an Archon Priest...
-
For me it was the brothers. First time i went in and figured just a typical boss fight. Duck and cover..........then here comes maul. And there i go;it was a jaw dropping moment.
-
I don't know... the Cabal Shield Brothers and the Hive Darkblade are two pretty awesome boss fights.
-
Interesting to note... I have all the D1 weapons, all the god rolls I want....3400 hours. Strike specific loot doesn’t matter to me. There’s no “reason” to go play any of those strikes again, but I totally would despite the fact that no amount of loot or reward could influence me. The D1 strikes have some intangible quality we should be looking to capture.... because that’s what’s missing in D2. It’s much more than just loot, random rolls. until both the community and the devs solve how to recapture the “soul” of Destiny, all the technical fixes, timelines won’t matter.
-
6 RepliesI can't think of a strike in D2 that is truly comparable to most strikes in D1. They just aren't as cool. I wonder why that is... Oh, wait, nevermind, in D1 we were hunting for strike specific loot... Silly me.

Edited by Nox Lumina: 5/2/2018 7:58:39 AMSepiks was that one strike where I would say "what the hell, let's do this one as well before I log off" T'was good
-
2 RepliesCurse of Osiris strikes for me! Just kidding I actually get so bummed when I load into one.
-
Nah. The Darkblade is.
-
I love alak aul... Now that is how to do a disappearing boss. Not the BS with that stupid fallen strike.
-
Sepiks prime was okay, but I really woulda liked something more creative than some wave defense, a tank, and an oversized servitor. Was boring to me. I’m not judging people for enjoying lazy designs but that’s my input about it. I much more enjoyed later strikes in development. Ones like the shield brothers or the alak-hul. I hate sitting behind cover for 20 minutes and wailing at a bullet sponge, so I find the movement in those strikes to be fun.
-
D1 strikes were fun overall. The buffs helped quite a bit.
-
Omnigul for me. Loved that strike.
-
Nah, twas good but Taniks and the one in that dark hive pit was better
-
9 RepliesI like the Darkblade strike. Whenever we loaded in there I was so happy. Also loved laughing at that one player that thought it was the Shield Bros and would run off in the wrong direction.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Ace of Knaves: 5/1/2018 4:43:53 PMBond brothers was my favourite, it had one of the coolest boss fights.
-
My favorite was always the non-RoI omnigul, because when it had brawler and void burn, I would just run into the boss room, pop an Armor of Light bubble on top of the boss, and punch her to death. It was a blast

Edited by Cosmic Zaa: 5/1/2018 3:57:49 PMI always felt Sepiks was a baseline strike. It set the bar for the absolute minimum effort to be considered a strike and therefore, it was beyond boring to me. BUT, that is my opinion, afterall. My absolute favorite strike of all time would be the Sunless Cell. Because i liked the dark mysterious feeling of dropping down there for the first time. The entire engagement feels unique to most content except for example, the abyss in Crota’s End. Sunless Cell with lightswitch was my favorite, since it was absolutely neccessary to be cautious of your sureoundings. Second to that would be Lake of Shadows (PSN Exclusive D2 Strike). I know its not the best, but i enjoy the feel of it. Music-wise: Sepik’s Perfected was the absolute best.
-
Sepiks Perfected; just because of the bomb metal music during the boss fight.
