... clearly hasn’t played both games.
I see where they’re similar, but I’m replaying D1 and they’re actually very different.
Bungie isn’t lazy. Gamers just don’t pay attention.

1 ReplyVenus is a million times better

1 ReplyIt's Venus with red plants. Fight me.
-
2 Repliesi am with you nessus is not a reskin of venus, but i think 100% sure that venus is a reskin of nessus.
-
1 ReplyMy first impression of Nessus was that they took parts of Venus and Black Garden, recolored them, and called it new. Similarly, Io was palette swapped Mars. European Dead Zone and Mercury were made from reused assets from D1 (crucible maps). But these are knee-jerk reactions. While Bungie obviously used these planets as a base, implying that they are reskins is extreme. They are not mere copy and paste jobs; real effort was put into them to make them feel unique from their D1 counterparts. And while I was pleasantly surprised that Titan was completely new, I wish they had used the ocean planet aspect as more than just a background. So no, not reskins.

8 RepliesActually looking at Destiny 1 concept art both Nessus and the New Tower, at least the hanger bay have been around since 2013. https://assets.vg247.com/current//2013/04/Destiny-6.jpg https://assets.vg247.com/current//2013/04/Destiny-2.jpg

6 RepliesNessus is a reskin of the Black Garden. Io is the Venus reskin.
-
1 ReplyTitan reminds me more of Venus than Nessus
-
2 RepliesEdited by CatMan: 4/30/2018 8:24:44 PMVenus look better imo, it has a darker feel to it.

1 ReplyEdited by IIFrankRizzoII: 4/30/2018 12:48:57 PMMost of them calling them lazy are most likely fat out of shape kids that have no idea what it is like to actually work. Cartmans voice Maaaaaam, get me some -blam!-ing cheesy poofs!!!!!
I do blame parenting for this type of behavior btw
Edited by Freak: 5/1/2018 7:11:06 PMWhat did Pluto say to Uranus?
When we were in school I was was big enough for your mom!

to be a planet...
1 ReplyLol you do realize that since you play video games as well you are a gamer to right?
-
I was looking for images of the two planets, for comparison, and I came across this little gem lmao - whoever did this, wins today: https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/destiny---venus-map/

Bungie isn’t lazy.
That’s cute.

1 ReplyI was just thinking this the other day. I've played D1 since beta, though. The geometry is different, but if you swapped color palettes you probably couldn't tell a difference. They were both taken over and converted by the vex. It makes sense that they feel like the same planet.
-
1 ReplyIts the same, get over it
-
11 RepliesLook up what a reskin is.
-
I loved Venus
-
Venus is alot more full and rain forest like.. and Nessus is not.
-
2 RepliesI'm more interested why there isn't any volcanic activity on IO. This place makes non sense at all.
-
1 ReplyEdited by WillaDeez: 4/30/2018 1:58:34 PMNessus is more like a proper fleshed out and explorable version of the Black Garden. Personal opinion, Nessus is one if not the best patrol location due to its size, variety and the underground system which connects with three surface locations. Its one of the few things I genuinely like about D2. But Bungie is lazy in many other ways and we can prove that.

I think it’s time Uranus gets to be a planet in Destiny! Uranus is a planet I’m offended.
-
5 RepliesYou realize as you make this statement that the shores of time from venus was reintroduced to d2 on nessus right?
-
4 RepliesI haven't seen one person make that comparison.
-
2 RepliesThey have very VERY similar parts, but that's just because Bungie only has one way of showing the Vex architecture. Big shiny squares and lasers.
