I dont see why not. They could make a strike rank system similar to the one that crucible will have. Lets say after 200 strikes that seasons unique weapon becomes available for purchase from zavala.
Reason why i say this is cause some of us dont like pvp in destiny but still would love to have that gun. It wouldnt be a hand out cause 200 strikes is not an easy task. If you played 3 to 4 hours a day (equals to about 10 strikes at 20 mins each) it would take you 20 days to complete. Which is probably about the same time it would take an avg player to reach the needed rank is crucible

I kind of had the same thoughts myself earning redrix claymore why only in pvp? i guess someone thought it would bring a lot of people back to play only to confuse people and only those with lot's of time on there hands i guess no one thought about the ones that work or have other thing;s to do besides sit and game all day. This was a great company when Halo was there game they listen and responded to what people were asking for at a drop of a hat now it seems like there really struggling to get people to stay playing there game now. Update someone already calmed the gun no loss games and 24 hours of game play ...like i said lots of time on there hands

Edited by TraumaticTopCat: 4/28/2018 4:10:36 PMNo it should stay a crucible only weapon and I am a pve player only. I do think bungie needs to separate the sandbox and have pve only weapons and pvp only weapons. Just reuse the weapons skin and balance each mode differently. For example imagine a uriels balanced for pve with one set of perks and balanced for pvp with another. Surely the balance patches would be easier and quicker to do if you were only balancing for one part of the game.

No. Do like D1 and give the 2 modes their own separate loot. Only certain weapons can be obtained from pvp and certain loot from strikes. Giving incentive to actually do them (not just the nightfall) instead of letting things become the stale boring husk it currently is.

Maybe have strikes have a unique type of weapon as well, but not that one

6 RepliesWhy would Crucible weapons drop from strikes? Should Vanguard weapons drop in Crucible too? Why not have everything drop from every source? Make Raid-weapons come from regular legendary engrams! The answer is: Because distinct activities need dedicated rewards to make people play them. If you don't like or play PvP then you won't get the gun. If you don't like or play the raid you won't get raid gear. So no, Redrix Claymore should stay where it is: Behind a wall of effort and time-investment located in PvP.

Edited by ILoveI6v6I: 4/28/2018 12:30:56 PMSo should every gun be available from every activity? That's pretty much how Destiny 2 shipped and that was one of the biggest problems with the game, no matter what you played you got the same rewards from everywhere. Why would anyone invest time in doing the hardest activities if they can just get the same reward from grinding strikes, pretty much the easiest activity. 200 strikes? Some people have completed more than 200 prestige nightfalls. Some people have thousands....There should be unique rewards with unique perks that you can only get from certain activities. You don't like PVP? Sorry you won't get the gun.
-
No defo not, I'm a PvE player and I think it's good that PvP players have something to earn, if you want it then give it a go. There needs to be loot that not everyone can get, D2 hands out loot at a ridiculous rate currently and nothing feels special. Someone who has 1000 hours in PvP should definitely have better stuff than someone with 100.
-
Should DFA, Silicon Neuroma, and Duty Bound all drop in PvP? No, and the Claymore shouldn’t drop in Strikes. There should be exclusive material reasons to grind different activities. If you want it, nothing is stopping you from trying Competitive. If not, it’s basically just a different flavor of Kill Clip anyway
-
3 RepliesIf you don't play all of the game, you should expect to get all of the rewards.
-
No it should not drop from strikes. If you don’t play said activity for said weapon then you don’t get it. Way it should be honestly!!
-
No. It is a PvP reward. they could create another strike only weapon, but pvp needs its own thing.
-
cause 200 strikes is not an easy task.
You are confusing Difficulty with Time Consuming. While doing 200 strikes would take some time and commitment, still would not take much skill. If you've done enough Strikes in Destiny you know you just kind of go into autopilot and run them. On the other hand achieving the rank needed for the Claymore will require Time, Commitment, and Skill. And that is fine, I'm a average PvPer on my best days so I fully do not expect to get that gun. Unless I say the hell with it, get a team and buckle down and get the WINS needed for that gun.

2 RepliesEdited by Xtraflossy: 4/28/2018 2:58:55 PMJust a thought, we dont know what the raid weapons are yet... Maybe something you would want more. But a vanguard (strike) progression system beyond a vendor wohldbe really nice. Grinding strikes in D1 was my main activity.
-
No not really but I did get the two best pulse rifles in D1 from strikes......
-
Nope. I'd have no problem with them introducing weapons you earn specifically from pve as far as difficult achievements go. Even if you were just a pve person and you'd never take it into pvp there is other people who absolutely would. Thus increasing the amount of people who have the weapon. Which would potentially raise the question of it being a balance issue. The point is for them to introduce a chase in pvp. Something worth getting and hard to obtain that would be good in the content you chased it in. By allowing it to be earned in strikes you're basically deminishing it's worth, deminishing the chase for it, and miffing players in general. It's a weapon designed for pvp that happens to be okay in pve. Let them have their weapons.
-
1 ReplyNo. The weapon is PvP specific, and meant to reward PvP players who excel at the activity. That being said, we should have more strike specific loot. The handful they added in 1.1.4 isn't enough IMO.
-
3 RepliesDo the format that provides what you want. Not all items should be available to everyone. I played a lot of PVP in D1, to start it sucked but if certain weapons hadn't been locked behind it I would never have improved or eventually learned to enjoy it.
-
No. Not at all.

Edited by Xienthius: 4/28/2018 11:40:17 AMWould go against it though, as Redrix Claymore is a PvP gun. Not a PvE gun. Would be good for me, as I'm a main PvE person, but I think it just would split apart things even more than it already is in this game. I want to see that same grind everybody did in D1 for that Mythoclast in the raid. Doing this would, eh.. just break what Bungie is trying to fix. I'm sure Bungie will give us PvE scrubs some good stuff too. And Redrix Claymore will probably be able to be outmatched by other guns, as it still needs that Outlaw perk to be activated first.
