I've heard people talking about it in relation to perks. I've no idea what they mean.

1 ReplyProc means "programmed random occurrence." It's a computer gamer term, rhyming with "dock" and used as both a noun and a verb, that's used to describe whenever a random gaming item activates, or a random gaming event occurs.

Edited by GrundleBeans: 4/26/2018 6:23:53 PMProc is short for "Spec Proc", which is short for "Special Procedure". In short short, it means you met/activated some special condition like an ability perk or you managed to shoot the thing in time that causes a different boss to appear in a public event. Most people use it to indicate an ability or perk has activated.

I know that it means "to activate" but does anyone know what "proc" itself is? Where did it come from? Is it short for something else? Is it an acronym?
-
Pretty much just activating it. For example, getting a kill with Devor will proc the perk.

to activate. you must kill an enemy with a headshot for outlaw to proc (activate)
