Are the Aeon Cult exotics worth running?

I've just acquired the aeon safe gauntlets after making my return to destiny 2 about a week back, and was wondering if its really worth having a whole fireteam run these or just have like two running, or just one... etc. The perk is interesting and I know all the skills it hrlpd with are pretty useful, but it is really worthwhile to run these things?

  • It's ok at best if you are a team of warlocks. For titan, barrier energy isn't the best... I've never had a time where I want to spam my barrier... and for hunter... I don't know why they chose dodge here... but... its definitely not worth it. Definitely use Raiden Flux, Orpheus Rig, or Celestial Nighthawk instead. For warlock, like I said, it's ok. I personally never use them, but, sometimes it can be fun.

It's a curiosity, that's all. Get six warlocks together, and they still can't throw six grenades at once - they have to take turns so the perk procs properly. I dunno WTF they were thinking making it barrier, dodge and warlock grenade. What is the Hunter's dodge supposed to be adding in this arrangement? It ought to be a Titan's barrier refills a nearby, equipped Warlock's rift immediately, and half of a nearby, equipped Hunter's grenade, and then a Warlock's rift refills a Titan's barrier immediately and half of a Hunter's grenade. That way the titan and warlock can keep barrier-ing and rifting indefinitely, and a Hunter can chuck a 'nade - then there'd be a DPS reason to run this build, in raids and for nightfall bosses, and maybe even to hold a control zone in PVP.

  • I'd say it's useful for a team of Warlocks. Rest are whatever.
