Make getting a new engine a priority for D3

The engine is the real reason why any real changes can’t be made for a few months after the issue is given. For your sake, bungie, and the playerbases, get a new engine for destiny 3. Edit: So this is what it feels like to be trending.....cool. Stop scapegoating the real reason to the engine and realize the damn truth that it was incompetently at a internal level of management and lack of visionary foresight in leadership that led to this. This game could have had the best engine in all of video games but it doesn’t change the fact that key basics decisions such at two primary weapons still exist and continued to exist after ‘feedback’ Does a new engine change these poor inept choices? No Does it absolve Bungie of guilt that they are incompetent at a decision making level? Yes This is why the majority now residing in the intended echo chamber of 2018 b.net is cucked.

    • At this point I think thats to hard for Bungie.... Maybe a decent mobile game should be their reasonable goal....

      • getting an new engine is the least of the problems. How about we make D3 not a game as a service as the priority. How about we release D3 with no season passes, dlc and micro-transactions. How about we make D3 with 50-100 hours of meaningful content instead a weekends worth

        • They will keep it for d3 as PS4 is apparently coming to the end of its life cycle. There are already strong rumors of the next gen dropping in Time for what would be d4.

        • Nope. What you're asking for is to go backwards again. To reset everything again and to not have systems and features that already existed... Again. D3 doesn't need a new engine. In fact there needs to not be a D3, but instead the game needs to build off of and extend the current game like WoW does. D2 had to be reset because of things that existed in vanilla that broke the game going forward. D2 might not have been what everyone wanted at the start, but it did fix all the things that broke D1 and the ceiling for what D2 can be is way higher than D1 ever could have aspired. New engines are good for shinier visuals, rarely have I seen them make gameplay deeper or more compelling and more often than not games go backwards there because so many resources have to go to building and ironing out bugs in the new engine.

Suddenly switching engines is what messed up Mass Effect: Andromeda. The team just wasn't ready to work with the Frostbite engine but powered through development anyway. If they do decide to try a different engine it should be a highly calculated move. This is however unlikley, Bungie is known for only working with their own in house engines.

              • Even with one, does bungie even deserve any more chances? D2 should have been the turning point for bullshit and whatnot but it wasn’t. It was such a step back from vanilla d1. Literally nothing got better. I realllllly want destiny to be that great game everyone plays again but bungie shattered the trust they did re earn. To trust them again would be foolish

                • The topic of D3 even to be mentioned is ridiculious. Worry about D2 first.

                • They should use unreal or frostbite. I'm not sure if you can get a license for frostbite but I know unreal engine is available to them and it runs a hell of a lot better than their piece of shit code they built for the game. Before even making D3 (which should be called Destiny Universe). . They need to melt D1 and D2 into it so we can LIVE IN DESTINY! Not have separate games to play. All they'd have to do is create 2 new crucible maps so there would be something like 30 maps to play on. PVE would need 2 strikes, a new epic raid and a story that continues the lore of the game that is played out on the same areas we have now, but add Jupiter (massive) and that's it. You are welcome bungie. They need to bring back Egyptian trials gear also.

                • If they are still using the same engine for destiny 3 after they told us making content is hard because of their engine they use, will just show how truly clueless these people are or just don't care. Why wouldn't you want an engine where you can do fixes on the fly, especially for a "live" game??

                • With D3 already in development there is no chance they go to new engine. The engine now will be the engine used for all of Destiny's existence and life cycle.

                • I think the plan is to dump out sheznet content until people stop buying it. I'm sure that changing the engine would push out the release past the allowed date. They were lucky to get D2 done a year later than planned. Which did work out for us players, since WOTM was way better than D2.
