As the topic name implies I honestly think the "guard" option of melee weapons is not used by people except for very rare occasions.
The problem is the ammo drains too quickly when shot at and the damage taken is still too much.
If we replace the guard option with or add a "parry" option that plays a 1 second animation which takes around 3-5 ammo away and sends all projectiles back within that 1 second it would be so much better.
To make this less op you can put a 3 seconds cool down on it to prevent people from spamming it in an encounter.
