Who the hell is BOB?!
I found [url=http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/careerstats/enemies.aspx?player=Sinkina&vc=4]this[/url]. Look at the very bottom, and it says, Elite Ranger (BOB). I have a medal for killing him too.
Anyone know?

In marathon there were these dudes called BOBs,which was an acronym for born on board and you get achievments and stuff for killing them.In reach they made a reference to marathon by putting secret golden elite rangers called BOBs throughout the levels.You also get a medal for killing them and for some reason they go under the "light covenenant vehicle" section on the scoring chart.

It is a reference to one of Bungie's earlier games, Marathon. B.O.B. stands for Born on Board (as in outerspace). They kinda lost their minds and would speak nonsense. You know how sometimes when you come to the bungie page, the title of the page says different things like, "Frog Blast the Ventcore". They would scream that at you in that game. Anyway, some people, myself included, feel that with the medal attached to it, that it opens some easter egg, perhaps an alternate ending (much like how all other halo games had an alternate ending). But yes, the B.O.B.'s in halo reach are the gold ranger elites. During one of the missions I encountered a Gold Ranger. I think that is what it is.
