Should Bungie bring back some Destiny 1 armor designs?
The original Warlock helmets from vanilla D1 are my favorite armor piece out of any game, and nothing in D2 compares. You really can't go wrong with those designs in my opinion. They still have the assets knocking around, why not update them and throw them into the mix in an update or something. Do the same for some old Hunter and Titan armor sets. Give us some variety. Anyone else got armor they miss from D1?
EDIT: I am not saying replace anything. I am talking about bringing back old Destiny 1 vanilla[u] legendary [/u]armor sets alongside newer Destiny 2 designs. Say 5-6 new armor sets alongside 5-6 old armor sets from Vanilla Destiny 1 in a release. In the immortal words of Dreamworks El Dorado "Both? Both. Both, both is good."
bigcorry down below made the point that Destiny 1 has a more Sci-Fi look, while Destiny 2 has a more Fantasy look. Let us have both, Guardians!
EDIT 2: PR4X1S inspired me to come up with this idea. The way this could be implemented is a hoard mode style simulation of the Cabal attacking the tower. We go into the simulation and try to last as long as we can against the Cabal, with revamped old D1 gear being rewards. The lore reason is obvious "If something like this happens again we need to be ready!"

2 RepliesThe worst thing is the color. In D1, the shaders were vibrant and really brought out the details in the armor. In D2, the colors are WAY more dull and muddled. It doesn't compliment the gear well at all. I think that's the real flaw in D2's style.

2 RepliesHell yeah they should, give us a mission to go to old tower and locate blueprints for old items first though, add more realism, not just drop them in, but I think that's beyond their imagination.

Neuroghast! Everything in d1 was better. The ships were all different not reskins. The sparrows were better (time breaker and grave robber).

1 ReplyYes please, none of the D2 gear compares to half the awesome outfits in D1. Especially the Warlock armour, all the D2 sets are so bad.. Like in the image i'd be happy for just that chest piece for my Warlock, it's sleek, functional, and not overdesigned or frilly. 3 RepliesCurrently I don't think the design of armour is anywhere near the top of the list of priorities for bungie right now. Changing the way shaders are is the only thing close to armor design. Actual reasons to use different armour is the most important thing for them to figure out at the mo. Bringing back more perks for the armor to be intrinsic on each piece seperate from armour mods and also perhaps complete set bonuses are desperately needed also. We have a lot of good designs in d2, different aesthetics from d1 I would say but we've only had 1 dlc so hopefully as we progress in content even more design options will be on offer. The timed events armour was pointless as you cannot get that stuff anymore aswell as the eververse armour for each season but that was before the eververse situation and having timed availability to get those armor pieces was to make more money from eververse. Hopefully the planet vendor's armour will refresh with this seasons change as it didn't from 1 to 2.
