They're going to release patch notes anyway, so there's no surprise unless you make a conscious decision to make it one.

I just dont want them to spoil all the cool stuff before it comes out.

I thought the same way until the nightfall exclusive items. I wanted them to keep it secret. I was expecting something along the lines of the D1 strike loot but better since they delayed it to have more time to make it better and wow was that a huge disappointment. So now Im really ok with spoilers.
