<-----This is how many think it would be cool if a percentage of eververse proceeds went to the Bungie Foundation charity

Or some other charity. I know most of us hate eververse on some level, but imagine if Bungie used it as a real force for good in the world? Actually bringing a piece of the light out of the realm of entertainment, and into reality? Picture 30% (or even 10%) of annual earnings from eververse going into charity. How much good could that do, when we the couch potatoes of the Destiny fanbase throw our wallets at the screen for a shot at that sexy ghost shell? Bungie could even start a new charity, all its own, that would assist eligible community members in need. Recently, a well known member of the offtopic subforum posted his farewell post: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/244453404?sort=0&page=0 This was not another cringy, "I'm leaving now" post, but an actual farewell post written from a hospital bed. In it, he tells that he has anywhere from 12hrs to 2weeks left to live. Facing imminent death with a measure of stoic resolve, he still can't bear to leave his young daughter behind. For those of us in Offtopic, this post was quite saddening, as we've all been following his battle against cancer since he first posted regarding initial diagnosis. How much could an eververse based charity help someone like this? If not with medical expenses, perhaps a modest donation to a college fund for his young daughter? The bungie community is, of course, bigger than offtopic; and stories like these are not uncommon as we face the inevitable darkness that life brings our way. Profit, of itself, is neither darkness or light. But Bungie could make it something good. At the end of the day, we know eververse is not going anywhere, I supported its removal as much as anyone during the last Dawning. If it is here whether we like it or not, why not make it something meaningful?
Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in. • eververse needs to go plane and simple, stop giving them more ideas to lock our stuff we pay for in dlc's behind more pay walls.

  • It would be nice if also the previous seasons loot gets put into appropriate loot pools which would add to the grind of the game, instead of having to get previous seasons stuff you want from the weekly Eververse rotation you should be able to earn it by playing the game.

  • I don’t agree nor disagree, or agree to differ as I understand the sentiment entirely! Personally I donate to a few causes and local to the UK but I also donate to a worldwide federation too! My parting note; it’s not that I dislike Eververse as I understand the trinket value in games of decent quality, I don’t like the fact that extensive work has to be done to rectify the problem with the XP and the fact that the system for Eververse was such a large part of that XP system to have to cap the limit also is ridiculous compared to other games that implement these structures! To add; with the recent controversy over the online gambling in regards to a well know gambling site; Eververse silver has monetary value, so by that outcome and the same logic tied to that, Eververse is a gambling system due to the monetary value of silver, so be prepared if your still playing to have some more down time in the future if teeth are sunk into this gambling system!

    • This was a nice heartfelt post. . . yet the only way bungie acknowledged its existence was by moving it to the feedback forums. . . . of course. . . .

          • This is a good idea. Its a win-win-win I mean obviously having eververse in the first place is a bit of a loss for us players but otherwise bungie wins as people have more of an incentive to buy, us players win as we get to support charity and get rewards from engrams, and an outside charity wins. Never thought of this before

I'd like to disagree. To have a percentage of the game's revenue being donated would be definitely great and okay. But to have it related to eververse to me is not! Personally, i don't want to see something shady, used to promote gambling on kids, etc, being falsely presented for doing something good, when in reality it does not. It would feel a bit like what McDonald's once tried. When they tried to introduce fitness and health care programs in schools, when McD is being accused of being anything, but healthy lol. No surprise it was rejected. As said, to relate donations to the game as a whole would be a good thing. But to relate it to eververse is not. Also, i do good from time to time, donate money or help people in trouble. And i never needed something like eververse or any other stupid fake money-grabbing machine for me to do so. I also don't need a eververse doing something like that for me, just to feel better, when feeding an own addiction.

REAL charity is giving without gaining. If you want to give something, just do it. Purchasing stuff for yourself and using a middle man to trickle it down is just lazy. (edit) I note all the cheap feel gooders who vote this up and will do nothing, proves my point.

                  • I agree with the sentiment. However after he got the diagnosis he got around 1.4-1.7 million in bitcoin. If he followed the advice he sold them. Though while God and his daughter don’t need the money there are definitely People’s that do. So I who hardly support this.
not that activision would allow bungie to do this
• I approve of this. This, plus the complete elimination of RNG microtransactions (which I refuse to have anything to do with), could make Eververse an asset to Bungie, instead of poison to us all.

                    • Lol. Bungie reply to soft question posts and fanboys but the minute someone posts a topic that actually has merit they ninja edit it to feedback and remain silent. Really poor form. Really....really...really bad moderation on this site too. Nothing short of a disgrace.

                      • I’d settle for them just putting a percentage back into the game... they supposedly already do that though. I have yet to see any improvement. In fact, the game has become worse.

                          • More like, it would be nice if this company used it for it's intended purpose. Did you know Activision made 4 billion just off of micro. It makes me wonder how much of that was from Destiny both D1 and D2 and how much Bungie has made from it. Because they sure as hell didn't put much of it into creating D2 expansions...
