Is anyone still here? The forums has an echo now.
Hi, it's your friendly neighborhood forum loser.
Anyway, way back when Destiny 2 was announced.. Me, being the fanboy I was, instantly pre-ordered the Digital deluxe edition, and snagged all the goodies plus the two DLCs.
-blam!- me, right? Yeah, -blam!- me.
With the absolute train-wreck that was D2, I slowly started to lose faith and interest in the game until my playtime dwindled down to a sliver, and I deleted the app.
However I started to miss this place. I missed being -blam!-ing angry at bungie and how they -blam!-ing ruined D2 and this coulda been the perfect game and oh my god someone please get this IP away from them
So, in.. "Hype" of the new DLC, I've re-downloaded the app to engage and discuss with uh.. Destiny fans? Can we really call ourselves that any more? Do we just.. Put up with Destiny? I don't know. Like any other dumb millennial nowadays, I treat D2 like my red-headed orphan and play stupid shit like fartnite and Monster Hunter. Actually, Monster Hunter isn't stupid. That has GOTY potential. -blam!-ing amazing game.
Anyway, the new DLC, Warmind. Simple name, but I like it. Way better than Curse of Osiris, because he didn't really have a curse per say. They could've named the DLC Cooch of Osiris and it would've made no difference because neither of the names make sense.
This DLC is rumoured to include the legendary hunter, Ana Butter. She will most likely act as a guide of some sort, or as an NPC you don't see until the end and instead most of her dialogue is just coming through the coms on your ghost.
>every new NPC ever
Anyway, this new NPC.. She will probably be renowned and talked about by your ghost as a -blam!-ing hero and super powerful guardian who treats you like you just started yesterday.
>osiris
That's the problem(imo) with Destiny's story.
We're supposed to Become Legend.
But it feels like everyone but us is a Legend.
We're still treated like an errand boy, who gets sent by the higher ups to basically do whatever they tell us.
Everyone seems to forget what we've done. Especially Saladman.
We are Lord Guardian. We stopped Atheon, Crota, his Father Oryx, assisted the Reef kill fallen traitors, stopped SIVA and woke the traveler after all was lost.
Yeah, we aren't cool.
But OSIRIS!? That guy was SOOO LEGENDARY. He uh.. He.. Played in some Vex portals and got exiled! Yeah! He's famous and cool because the tower thought he was a murderous robot fanboy!
For the love of god, he didn't even know who we were. For some guy who traveled through time, you sure weren't there to warn us about every potential threat ever. Dick.
All I'm saying is, it's about time our character got recognized in some shape, form, or fashion in the story. I was expecting a statue or something at the end of the campaign, or a promotion to being the new speaker, or -blam!-ing something.
Nah, bro. Go run strikes for Zavala cause he doesn't feel like doing it lol
Imagine if D2 started off like this.......
There was a special ceremony being held in the tower. Zavala was stepping down from his Vanguard Commander Position and giving it to you, Lord Guardian, the Hero of the city. In the middle of the Inauguration, Ghaul and the Red Legion attack. Eager to fulfill your new duties as Vanguard Commander, you do your best to rally the troops and launch a counter attack, even going so far as to challenge the tyrant yourself. You fail,(like in the original cutscene) and Ghaul annexes the city, scatters the guardians, and takes the light. You awake two days later, stricken with grief that you were defeated so easily and that the city was lost because of you, the supposed Hero. Now you must fight and external and internal battle, wondering if you're worthy to stand up to the new threat and to convince everyone who once counted on you to follow you once more, and re-claim the city.
To me, even though it is my dumb idea, I like it a lot.
So. I'm hoping that this new DLC story isn't just "Go Here and meet this NPC! Then go do some missions while she force feeds you exposition over coms and your ghost tries to be sarcastically funny and then you beat the bad guy and the new NPC says good job!"
I hope there are stakes. I hope their is tension, drama, good character and dialogue, and a good threat.
I hope there's a good story.
