Destiny 2 titan armor SUCKS
We went from the sickest looking iron banner armor to looking like the Michelin man. What is with the dorky looking bubble outfits for the titan? It sucks. Every armor set just looks cheap and cheesy. At least the rare armor in the game looks a little more classy. Why does every armor set have to be bulky? D1 has SOME pieces of armor that were bulky, but it didn’t go over the top like we were playing overwatch. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s the graphics looking too polished or maybe it’s the design, but something just looks a little too cheap and cartoonish. I want the guys who designed the iron banner and raid gear from d1. Those sets were awesome. The new monarchy titan armor in the game is close to being cool looking, but the faceplate on the helmet is way too cheesy looking. The slots in the helmet are way too wide and it looks like a cartoon. The taken king iron banner helmet was much better. Take a chapter from destiny 1 and scrap the constant super huge shoulder pads and cheap designs. It’s awful looking.

I agree, titan armor is not that great. My titan main mostly uses the Exodus down armor set(Nessus) with dune marchers because it makes me look less bulky. What they should do is give us the option to customize our body types. You realize that not all titans, hunters, and warlocks have the same body types

Titans: Mitchelin man/shoulder pads large enough for the whole fireteam to sit on Hunters: spandex/toeshoes fanatics, or just wearing scrap pieces of fabric duct tapes together Warlocks: dresses you'd trip on in a battlefield, giant fans on helmets akin to peacocks, or bin liners taken from the trash The D1 outfits never had these problems

I can see the argument and agree to a certain extent as some sets do look this century in their cumbersome appearance! I suppose it’s a bit like the evolution of Ironman and their iterations over time, you can see the evolution in design by the evolution in the material, but it seems those at Bungie think that to be resilient it has to be big and bulky! Unless they’re actually using weight ratios in their designs and they’re coming out this way, but I’m guessing that would be way to much to ask and guessing that’s not the case, as ballistics plating has evolved rather well over the years since its introduction and furthermore, I’m guessing armour of the future will be a woven mesh rather than the generic plating we see today and would form rigidity through impact and energy, I could also see that energy transferred elsewhere and used/retained for other purposes (makes me wonder why the armour has to be bulky in the first place, a Titans defence is in their abilities or should be anyway) but that’s just my way of thinking I suppose!

1 ReplyOne thing I never understood as well, how can you not differentiate between a male and female guardian? Why do both sets have to look the exact same way? Games like Diablo, MHW have different designs between male and female armor sets. I don’t want the female armor to make them look slutty or anything, but all my female guardians look absolutely stupid.

This is a general thread I’ve been saying since launch. Most sets looks cheaper, less detailed, or cartoonish...not sure why. I remember near the end of D1 during the Dawning event, they introduced High Moon Studios as someone they would be working on armor sets with, and it was the FIRST set I had never wanted in Destiny. I was worried. Not sure why they brought them in if I’m remembering that correctly. However, I WILL say that some sets are good, and I’m thinking even more are headed in the right direction. Sometimes it’s all about pairing them with a classy shader. The Zavala set is pretty sick with Blue Geometry on it, or even some others.

Lol'd at michelin man. Couldn't agree more. Almost didn't main Tital because they are so bulky. You just have to find the right armor pieces tbh. I believe I use the gauntlets from Titan and they aren't bulky and I like em.

They obviously wanted to express the fact a titan is supposed to be bulky.. Unfortunately they haven't executed it in the right way in my opinion. Although that is strictly my own opinion. Some sets of gear are good looking in my opinion such as the Iron Banner sets and the Trials set. Although the ps exclusive gear along with some of the vendor gear looks too bulky. Not a fan of many sets. The warlock is the one who is suffering the most in my opinion also. I feel like in D1 I was stuck on deciding what to wear most of the time. Now I strictly use the Iron Banner set only as it's the only set I like. The rest are too feminine for a male warlock or lack an uniqueness

I think the one area D1 was clearly better on armor was class items, but it also went 3 years without ever topping some that were available at the Speaker from day 1. The only Titan set I really loved in D1 was my HoW set. Hated vanilla and HoW armor for it. Honestly can't remember any particular set post TTK outside of the WotM set. D2 I didn't really care for any of the Titan sets at launch, but I love the Crucible set with the ornaments they added. Easily my favorite since TDB.

Says you. I love how the Titan armor looks in Destiny 2; the Crucible armor looks dope, though my personal favorite is the Wildwood Plate you get from Devrim. With the right shader (in my case, Desert Matte) it makes you look like a human tank. There's also the Gensym Knight armor you can get from Asher, the Iron Banner armor looks awesome as always (especially with new samurai theme), and the armor you get from Brother Vance in Curse of Osiris, which is probably the best-looking out of all of them.

Its not just the titans...all d2 looks cheap and nasty...d1 white armor was far better looking.

I won't be coming back to D2 even though I have season pass... Not until they do some meaningful changes to Titan as a class... Armor is crap, exotics are crap, abilities and perks - crap. Armour stat does NOTHING, it's hardly noticeable. Meanwhile you are the biggest target on the field with your huge waterwings that have no positive function. Shoulder charge is useless and I cant even think of the other perks , they are so forgettable and underwhelming... Last time I buy a bungie game. Worse than doing the lotto.

It is simple.Best designs for guns and armours for D1 was done by best guys in bussines, not bungie. For D2 clearly bungie done this shit by their own people, and almost whole gear for Titan is like weird clown clotches for helloween.

In general, the armor style of destiny 2 sucks! But have you seen the original art of the cloaks for hunters? I assure you that they were cool! I do not know how they got out those horrible rags!
