@Bungie
CronusMax is rampant in PVP and is evident by the way people fire the Vigilance Wing and Uriel's Gift, to aim and fire rapidly with no recoil. How can you battle this?

This thread reminded to see if the Apex was out yet. Thanks for the reminder. :)

1 ReplyI've actually run into this myself. I didn't cheat, but the game glitched when I switched to an auto rifle before the match loaded up, right when the map mini cutscene loads. It's only happened to me a few times, once in Pve for about a three minutes, and once in PvP for a few minutes. I felt like a jerk, so I swapped weapons but it didn't stop. So I just enjoyed it while it lasted. I was on console.

1 ReplyRun around in packs hunt them down like dogs and slaughter there pathetic cheating carcasses.

2 RepliesEdited by shwabbywabby: 4/20/2018 11:36:29 AMWhat do you want them to do? The thing is undetectable so they would have to counter each problem they create individually rather than CronusMax users in general. D2 already has partially random recoil if they make it any more random it would just spoil the game for everybody including me and you. The only real alternative here is to get rid of recoil all together to make it a level playing field. I'm down with that but then again I'm not a elitist wanna be which is where I see the complaints coming from. The rapid fire mods they do act like the old turbo buttons in that they basically only mash the trigger. They don't make the gun fire any faster than optimal because thats dictated by code in the actual game not the controller which is what the cronus is emulating. The only thing they can combat is jitter mods because they make use of in game glitches to fire weapons faster than intended. Something that thankfully hasn't arisen much in Destiny and if they do, like what's happening on the PC at the moment they can actually fix the glitch and stop them from being able to take advantage of it. But what is most likely to be happening right now isn't a influx of cronus users but lag due to a diminished player base. Packet loss or all packets arriving at once can make it seem like opponents are using some jitter mod. But this is something they are actually tackling by getting rid of the separate CoO playlists and in effect doubling the player base for both of those playlists. Edit: I stand corrected after playing 3 and a half games last night 2 and a half of those games had someone using jitter mods.

Cheaters have low self esteem and this is the only way they can feel good about themselves.

4 RepliesThe way I look at it is this: 1. They're using these things because they're bad at the game, lazy, or both, and whatever edge they get from it isn't insurmountable; or 2. If they're using these cheats and have any decent amount of skill they don't enjoy the game and will get bored quickly and quit or their play time will be minimal. It's annoying to lose to garbage like this but it's still very possible to enjoy the GG's.

I can't believe anyone cares enough about D2 PvP to use cheats. LOL. It's hilarious. to me.

I think that's more an issue for Sony/Microsoft to deal with allowing these things to mimic controllers, all of the scripting features can't remove recoil(it can auto adjust for it so you don't have to) or make the fire rate faster, but they can script for say a hand cannon to be full auto or a scout but it won't change the fire rate or recoil. It's Microsoft/Sony allowing it.

There's nothing Bungie can do. Some people will do whatever it takes to win, even if that means cheating. And this method of cheating is practically undetectable.

3 Repliescronusmax and xim do not remove recoil, at best they would enable a console user to use MNK but the console still treats it as a controller so recoil would still be there.
