I am speculating that with the release of masterwork exotics, dismantling an exotic weapon or armor may grant a masterwork core.
I rarely play the raid or trials, so I am always running low on MW cores. For months I have been clearing vault space of gear I don't use so that I can store the endless stream of duplicate exotics from weekly engrams. Either in the form of MW cores in the May update or some other consumable reward in the future, I am hoping that dismantling exotics will grant something more than currently.

1 ReplyHaha you must be joking they wouldn't be so generous, they'll probably sell them for silver.😬

I seriously doubt regular exotics will give you a mw core. I seriously doubt exotics you claim from your collection will spawn masterworked. It's just not how Bungie does things. With every decision you think Bungie might make, you have to consider "would that be fun, or kind of a pain in the butt?" Bungie always chooses the "pain in the butt" option, because Bungie hates fun.

2 RepliesNope, Exotics & engrams are the only things you shouldnt store.

1 ReplyI mean, you can always just make a bunch with legendary shards. No point in saving them, just buy them right before the update. I can literally buy 200 exotics right now.
