Remember when Rasputin was originally supposed to be an Exo?
What other ideas were scrapped that changed characters/story?

42 RepliesI love how this community accepts, without question, that the original Destiny story was going to be some game changing, amazing, historic thing that Bungie trashed on utter whim and replaced with dreck. Rather than considering for a moment that maybe the story actually sucked, and that given how far they were into development they had to create a Frankenstein's monster of a story around the gameplay already created just to get the game out. I mean, I don't know either, but people around here just assume that the original story was going to be godly without knowing much about it than what was in [i]one[/i] Kotaku article. For all we know, it sucked ass. But we'll never know. And I see you clowns still don't understand the -blam!-ing folklore comment.

Remember when destiny was supposed to have a story but then they fired Joseph Staten because his story was too linear. So then they made one that they thought was better and now we have this.

This storyline was FOLKED from day one . The moment Joe and friends walked out the door , they FOLKED the crap out of his LORE . The moment Suckitvision turned Joe out Bungie should of told them to FOLK off .

1 ReplyThere was a screenshot of a mission that read "Help the Crow infiltrate the Ishtar Collective" or something like that. We know that the Crow/Prince Uldren was once a huge part of the story. We also know that the Exo Stranger was once Osiris's assistant. In the Jason Schreier reports we learned that one of the main conflicts at Bungie over Destiny was the upper management wanted a non-linear story. We're revived, visit each planet, then can do each what we want as each planet was a contained pocket the had some sort of culmination. Once Joe Staten and his writing team left, this was scrapped for the vague and confusing linear story we got anyway.
