Really Big DLC IDEA [Subclass]

Subclass name: Wrath Of The Machine. (Destiny 1 reference) Lore: This Subclass is used by guardians who wish to bend the will of those around them. And consume anyone or anything that gets in their way. This Subclass is highly frowned upon by the vanguard. So much to the point of it being banned in the crucible. If Subclass is used within city limits, this will result in immediate exile from the city. No Exceptions. Now let's talk about how you get it. New missions appears on earth called: Consume, Enhance, Replicate. Ghost: We lost contact with a guardian who was infiltrating a Splicer base in the EDZ. We need to go find out what happened before it's too late. So you land at the church and continue towards the base. As you arrive there are buildings complete covered in Siva. Ghost: how big is this base? As you walk deeper into the base something hits your guardian. You fall over and your vision starts to blur. The last thing you see is a faint view of a Splicer captain walking towards you. You wake up on an operating table. Your vision is still blurry but you can clearly see a group of Splicers surrounding you. They notice you are awake. The group backs off as you stand up. And objective appears on the right of your HUD. Objective: Consume, Enhance, Replicate... You have no guns so you're forced to use melee and abilities. You run up to the nearest Splicer and push the melee button. But instead of stabbing, punching, or hitting them with energy, a large whip-like cable burst from your arm launching the Splicer back. The other Splicers, looking just as surprised as you are, start to back away. You look down at the whip as it literally builds itself back into a hand. A Siva symbol flashes on your screen. After you finish off the rest of the Splicers a door opens. Heading through you find your ghost on a table next to your guns. Ghost: Guardian? Oh thank goodness. We need to get out of here. Now. A Splicer charges towards you. You try to throw a grenade but instead another whip burst from your left hand and wraps around the Splicer then it plunges into the Splicer's chest. As this is happening you notice you are gaining over shield. You are sucking the life out of your enemies. The whip retracts and the Splicer slumps over. You then look back at your ghost. Ghost: What... Did They do to you? Ghost: scanning... it appears that Siva is flowing through your blood stream. And is slowly taking control of you. You head into the next room and are immediately swarmed by Splicers. If you try to dodge, put up a titan barrier, or create a rift, your guardian will throw a small cluster on the ground. The cluster will form itself into a node. The node takes control of nearby enemies for 30 seconds. You super lets you spawn in swarms of Siva that attack enemies. Every kill you get with your super regenerates your health and gives over shield. (Super last 10 seconds) Ghost: We need to get reconnected with the light. We need a way to stop the corruption, or at least slow it down. The next room has a group of enemies and a Scorch Splicer. Upon killing it the cannon will drop. Ghost: Siva Corruption at 60%... oh I've got an idea. Grab that cannon. The next room is filled with explosives. Alright this might sound crazy but I need you to kill yourself. Don't worry I'll revive you. Just trust me. So you walk into the next room and... blow yourself up. The entire room ignites as you are blown to pieces. A large hole is made in the wall that leads to the outside. Ghost: Head through that wall. We need to get to the Shard of the Traveler. Making your way outside you find two omolon Sub-machine guns. Ghost: these must have belonged to that guardian we were looking for. We should take them. Hook them on your sparrow. We'll need the extra firepower... [Yay Weaponized Sparrows. :D] While your driving away from the base and towards the shard you will be put in an all out war. Ghost: picking up Splicer chatter, Attempting translation... "Subject #01475 has broken containment. Initiate stand-by mode for Subject #01274. Operation is a failure. Stand by for self destruct protocol. All personnel get to your designated ships and pursue #01475 repeat #01475 must not escape! Suddenly several pikes start chasing you. Two ketches fly above you. Heavy Shanks and Skiffs start bombardments on the area. And the base starts to erupt around you. (The lead designer for this mission was Michael Bay.) Also "Tower Fall" starts to play in the background. After tons and tons of driving and shooting and dodging, you finally arrive at the entrance to the forest. At the entrance there is a group of trip mines. Ghost: run through these mines! We need to block of the entrance. The entrance collapses behind you. And everything quiets down. Ghost: Siva corruption at 80% we need to hurry. Otherwise Siva will turn you into a mindless killing machine. Moving through the next section you hear a low metallic mechanized voice. That sends shivers down your spine. #01274: Hunting protocols active. Assessing threat... threat level "red". Preparing to engage. The next section, after that disturbing one, has the story of the iron lords being told as you walk through. At the end there is a portal That leads to the peace of the shard you need. Once you get to it light will flood inside you. Ghost: Siva levels in your blood stream are dropping. We did it. "But wait there's more!" (RIP Billy Mays) #01274: Hunting mode disabled. Combat mode active. Analyzing target... Analysis complete. Beginning assault. The enemy drops from behind you. Appearance: the boss looks like the Siva Iron lords you fight in the replication chamber in D1. This is the most unique boss in the entire game. Rather than standing still and shooting. His fighting is much like that of Thaviks. But more complex. It adapts to your fighting style as the battle goes, changing tactics and weapons while trying to find a weakness. For instance if you decide to pull out a void weapon. The boss will react and adapt attempting to mirror you. #01274: Energy switch detected. Void burn active. Also the boss reacts to weapon change as well. #01274: Target using close range. Switching to long range rounds. Keeping distance. #01274: Target has range advantage. Must minimize distance with target. This boss is no pushover. My Advice is to move unpredictably and constantly change weapons. When you finally finish the boss the mission ends. Ghost: That guardian was living a fate worse then death. I'm glad we put him out of his misery. I'm still detecting Siva inside you but as long as it's not corrupting you, we can use this to our advantage. Though I don't think the vanguard will like this. (The reason I banned this in crucible in because it's hard to balance this. And PVP seems to be the main focus in destiny. And us PVE players are left with no content.) Skill tree! Need ideas. • Not a big fan of the idea of a new element; Destiny is a game of 3s. I'm all for new subclasses though.
Skill tree! Need ideas. Post your ideas below pls.
Just wait and see what I have in mind :D Grenades: SIVA-Capsule: You throw a capsule full of SIVA nanites which stay as a SIVA field at the impact point and deal continued damage to all enemies in the AoE. Enemies in the SIVA field will be slowed down. EPG Grenade (Energetic Projectile Generator): You throw a small generator grenade which will jump upwards on impact and sprays 3 pulses of SIVA projectiles around it. Nanite-Mine: You throw a disk grenade which stays on the impact point and activate itself when enemies are near. The disk grenade generates SIVA nanites which traps 3 targets with SIVA tentacles, weaks them and dealing continued damage for 3-4 seconds. Melee Attacks: SIVA-Strike: You charge forward, using your body as a giant projectile while being covered in SIVA generated armor plates which makes you completely immune against damage for the time of attack. If you kill an enemy your life will recover. SIVA Corruption: You attack an enemy with SIVA directly which weaks the enemy for 2 seconds and reducing his dealt damage for 4 seconds. If you kill the enemy with this attack, his body will explode and generate SIVA nanites around the explosion which attacks 3 other targets as tracking grenades. Passive Abilties: Upper skilltree: Your class ability will be improved. As a Titan, you and your team can shoot through your barrier but with reduced damage. As a Hunter, your dodge slows enemies down and reloads all equipped weapons from you and your nearby allies. While the dodge you become immune against damage. As a Warlock, your Rifts reduce the incoming damage from enemies while you or your teammates standing in it. Lower skilltree: Your Super and Abilities cooldowns reloads faster when nearby Allies make kills or assist you. Super-Abilities: For Titan: You generate a strong SIVA shield around you which increase your resistance against damage extremely for 10 seconds. Your weapon crit. damage is increased. For Warlock: You call for your SIVA nanites to protect you. The nanites reduce incoming bullet damage and generate a small but strong AoE Field which deals damage to enemies in it. The field absorbs a part of the incoming bullet damage and at the end of the super, the field detonates and deals the collected damage against enemies in a certain area around you. For Hunter: You use your SIVA nanites to generate a light-deflecting field around you, which makes you invisible. While using this super your heavy/power weapon damage is doubled. Swords can hit critical.

      • Hey I like the idea of siva, it’s can work really well as like a synthetic power or robot electronic power. I have kinda my own idea for a subclass/Element if you want to check it out.

            • Imagine this as a spin off game where you are completely infected by siva instead of being healed and become the enemy. It could become a third-person action game with mainly melee focused combat, since you mentioned whip arms.

              • Sounds cool and all but Siva isn't a fundamental force of the universe nor is it a type of energy, that like saying that humanity should ally with the fallen or that wind, water, earth and fire are elements instead of being closer to states of matter like solid, liquid or gas, it just doesn't fit with the setting or lore. It is an awesome concept though, just doesn't fit in destiny that way. It would fit well as a tool though, like having a nano-swarm to attack enemies scout areas create am or and other construct, stuff like that.

Interesting ideas. I've always liked the idea of a SIVA based class. Any lore thoughts for why the Nine would ban it from Trials same as Crucible, though? They've always struck me as having a fairly 'anything goes if it does damage' attitude. Apologies if you explain this in your links btw but it's pretty long so I haven't been through it yet.

              • I like where you're going with it, but that name kills the crab. What about:
Omen: That rarity and bad stigma from the lore you describe can feed into superstitions of bad luck and misfortune that grant them the closest thing to an official class title they'll ever get. As for abilities, a utility or unconventional combat class would be a welcome addition to the destiny ranks. A solar based subclass could have abilities that effect the performance of opponents. This could range from hologram projections that highlight enemies that fire on it and "grenades" that pull fired rounds towards it instead of dealing any kind of damage while using a super that either causes weapon fire to damage the user or has a chance to briefly jam a weapon entirely. The shock subclass would sacrifice double jump/boost/or glide for a moderately high single jump and omi-directional dash ability. This subclass would also replace the heavy weapon slot with a multi-tool: a large, blade-like growth that is formed as the arm lengthens and reshapes during camera transition. This blade has an electric charge so long as it has a power supply, but rather than blocking, can fuse with the left arm, upper chest, and head to produce a heavy stationary railgun. Rather than a super, this class will work on the premise of "energy," which means that the player must continuously deal damage and get kills to use their multi-tool as this energy will decay over time. The void subclass would be well suited to be the opposite of the shock subclass: rather than benefiting from dealing damage, the void class benefits from receiving damage. Rather than a grenade ability, it has a quick charging, yet briefly lasting cloak and an evasive roll. And rather than a super, it can route it's stored power into one of three options: an aoe Shockwave emitted from a charged melee attack, release of an orb into the air that breaks into shards and tracks enemies (animated like a super and leaves you vulnerable as such), or a weapon overload that charges your gun to temporarily boost it's damage and rate of fire (appears as void emissions along rifle and shotgun barrels, and produces a void replication of the side arm or hand cannon currently being used to briefly dual-wield them). Damage and range of Shockwave, damage and number of shards, and damage and rof increase and increase duration of your weapon is dependent on the amount of damage you had received before hand. The stored power meter begins to decay once your health begins to recharge, though the decay is slower than that of the shock class's.
We should have SIVA subclasses where you only have your abilities with no gun, but a sword is still available. Hunters melee is 2 knives like an assassin. And they can combo up to three times in a successful combination in first person POV. Combo is a double stab in the stomach, to a blind stab in the face, to a lethal throat cutting blade dance. Titans melee has a sword swipe across the stomach, a leg sweep with your arm launching the enemy in the air, and a shoulder bash to finish it. Warlocks melee is a force push that pushes the enemy back and then you can hold the melee button to shoot energy from your hand from a distance.
