Bungie Once Again Is Going To Take Feedback From The Streamers and Content Creators Over The Common Player

There is a Destiny 2 Summit April 19-20 at Bungie. Bungie has invited a few of the top names in the Destiny community, some who don't even play the game much or have moved on completely. Rather than continuing to listen to the ones who play the game daily/weekly, Bungie's summit is going to include names that don't even play anymore. Once again, if you're not a streamer or content creator, Bungie places you low on the totem pole.

  • I don't know how you could possibly be a PVE content creator. There's nothing new to do or to chase down.

  • How many streamers still play D2 for them to get feedback from? Not much I bet.

    • look at it from their perspective for a minute free advertising. streamers and content creators afford Bungie easy access to large audiences by only having to focus their attentions and messages to a few people. then those streamers can go out and put their own spin on the information and build hype to their respective audiences, and Bungie can just sit back and let the bandwaggon get back to rolling out and bringing the cash back in. smart move. could it suck donkey dong for the rest of the players?! sure. there is more than enough information to be found here in the forums, or over on Reddit, that would bring Destiny back around to be a fantastic game, and it looks like Bungie is content with kicking the fans in the jimmy so they can get another dollar. i would suggest checking out and contributing more to the reddit forums if only for the simply fact that Bungie seems to take what is said there with little more heart than it's own forums. before you get back on the 'screw Bungie' bumper car funhouse ride, assume that we really don't know nothing about what they are planning for this event and that we will all have the same information regardless of who gets invited once the event is over.

    • It's better that they receive feedback from people who actually give a crap and want the game to succeed, as opposed to trolls and provocateurs

      • They shouldn’t invite anyone who doesn’t play the game anymore. Nobody watches those folks for destiny videos anymore so what audience will they be relating a message to? Invite houndish, unknown player, forum members The rest can kick rocks

      • Complaining about this is beyond stupid! What are they supposed to do? Bring in random guardians and hope they give valuable and representative feedback? Just because they don't respond to every whinny post on the forums doesn't mean they don't read them. They invited the people who have (at least at some point) made this game their livelihood and also proven that they can articulate what they know and hear. Whether they actually give them better feedback than others could is debatable but there's at least a better chance that they will. It's also a move to try to rebuild the community and sell their game. Stop acting like that's a bad thing! The community is definitely fractured right now and not what it once was. Also, if it was bad to make money making games there wouldn't be any!

        • They are only hoping to salvage their company at this point they finally realized 97% players left and wont be back. All other studios that have a communication relationship with their players are doing very well.

        • I actually think it's better than nothing. I watch(ed) most of the creators listed and they all have said basically the same thing. No end game, original weapon slots, 6v6, no grind, no power fantasy, aimed at casuals etc. Being pragmatic here, they can at least tell Bungie about the feedback they get from their viewers who aren't trolling, and I agree with most of what they say about it.

          • These are not the same streamers and content creators that the forum often cites as reasons we should be concerned with the game right?!?! Its not as if....when the streamers and content creators trash the game the forum latches on to them and treats them as prophets.....right!?! You guys really need to make up your mind about how important these guys really are....

          • I've no problem with bungie gathering true feedback from content creators, but that's clearly not what this is. Not many streamers main PvE. Some will do it to pass time in the week, but the vast majority is PvP. Especially when Trials is on. This sounds like a PvP and Trials rescue summit. I can't see them asking these attendees much about PvE.

          • Bungie is trying to get the people that say good things about them to be included. Anyone who says bad things about Bungie will not attend. I promise you that. This is a numbers game. Throw money at the screen.

          • The streamer who i think they should listen to is Datto. He takes the time to actually figure out the numbers and weighs the PvP side and the PvE side of things. He still does destiny videos and IMO has the best raid tutorials on YouTube

Bungie is going to use them to 'hype' the upcoming "expansion" because it has worked in the past. Rest assured some of them will re-launch their D2 channels to say "Bungie listened and content is upcoming". What will really sink the Bungie ship is if most or all of those streamers and content creators report "nothing to see here" or better yet decline to attend. I would say to the streamers and content creators attending: Remember one thing. Bungie may afford you 'access' but it is the player base that makes or breaks your channels..... NOT Bungie. Go ahead, hear what Bungie has to say but at least have the courage to be objective and NOT just turn in to a Bungie 'shill' just because you got invited. If you float the "company line" and the content is lackluster (again) you are only hurting your own livelihood.

            • Would like to see them select a few random players from all platforms by gamertags and see how the common non- streamer views their product. I'm sorry, but at least one of the streamers is going to go despite a negative feel toward the game just to let them know what's up. I have a whole lot of gripes about the game, but there are things I love. Sadly my opinion doesn't seem to matter. And I feel inviting random players in is a good PR move. The patient player, who sits hoping things they find need fixing get fixed, is the target audience they should be hitting up for suggestions.

              • If I were Bungie, I'd want the feedback of people who loved my game but stopped playing. Not that still currently playing people's opinions aren't valuable, but the real questions are "What made you stop playing" and "What will make you come back"? Plus, those guys and gals with hu dreds of thousands of subscribers are going to be able to persuade many many more people to come back than someone who still plays the game.

              • Maybe the reasons behind why streamers don't play anymore /don't make content anymore will open bungies blind eyes and deaf ears. Because they sure ain't listening like they say they are , or they're so afraid of imbalance they won't change a losing formula too much.

              • Those assholes get paid to play video games. They get paid by bungie to push their product. They aren’t willing to throw any shade at the game because they fear bungie might end their relationship with them. Because of this we aren’t really getting any honest feedback. So why are they having streamers join this even when their opinions are bias. Makes zero sense to me.

                • Example: every game developer/publisher, that fell to the microtransaction controversy, has removed them from their games, is in the process of removing them or at least reintroduced them into some other form. Eververse remains, as it was day one in D2. Even though this communtiy was the most vocal and passionate about its removal. Zero f's given by Bungie for their player base.

                  • Lol welcome to life buddy. That is exactly how it works. If you are not personally highly regarded by some standard in the industry, you are placed low in regards to your voice. My voice means nothing to bungie. Your voice means nothing. Someone who has 100k followers on the other hand....well if you get him to play your game, you essentially get 100k people watching your game and some of them will then play it. If you go to a bar, every day, your voice on how they should change to bring more customers means nothing to management. But a guy who works for a bar review site, who has 1 million followers has a stronger voice than you despite only walking in the bar once and doing a quick analysis. A bank doesn't listen to a customer in regards to how they should finance and invest money, but they will listen to an outside consultant who knows the industry. It's just life. To many common people have too any ideas. Maybe the 1 common guy has a great idea, and is never heard. What a shame. Sometimes the big smart guys have terrible ideas, but are still listened to. Life isn't fair. Sucks right.

They're going to listen to those who put the game in this spot in the first place. Kudos Bungle. That's why I'm playing the division and loving it.
