Bungie Once Again Is Going To Take Feedback From The Streamers and Content Creators Over The Common Player

There is a Destiny 2 Summit April 19-20 at Bungie. Bungie has invited a few of the top names in the Destiny community, some who don't even play the game much or have moved on completely. Rather than continuing to listen to the ones who play the game daily/weekly, Bungie's summit is going to include names that don't even play anymore. Once again, if you're not a streamer or content creator, Bungie places you low on the totem pole.

  • I have no problem with this. They have selected a wide range of content creators and I feel like they represent a broad swath of the players. Let's see how it shakes out first.

  • Dude that’s literally the point. It’s a focus group where you pull in different demographics to see different points of view. Would you rather they took 5 random people from this forum that are just going to regurgitate the same thing that they heard from the content creators anyway? If your answer is yes you’re wrong.

    • I read that Unknown Player is going and he's still playing and seems to have a similar opinion as myself with some of the gameplay. I'd be surprised if Byf isn't invited (although given the length of some of his critique videos I could understand) I wonder if they invited Paul Tassi considering the amount of articles he's written about the game

      • To be quite honest. They are mostly the only ones left really playing the game.

        • I didn't think there were any major streamers left playing this game

        • One "common mans" perspective... Simple fix to D2. What if... They took all the perks we have had on our weapons and armor to date and made them mods? This would allow the player to customize their preferred item from the base archetype that is dropped from gameplay. This would allow for hundreds of perk combinations from just one weapon/armor drop. Standard equipment would receive one mod slot to fill. Legendary two slots and so on. The rarer the gear, the more mod slots it would have to fill. (The new grind) Think of the possibilities this would present us the player, along with not relying on Bunnie for new content. Just one gun would hold hundreds of possible mod combinations, and the chase for the perfect gun/armor would be back, and the best part is, it's not random...we build the beast ourselves. Would something op result from this system...of course, but for me it would be awesome chasing that rabbit.(along with giving Bunnie something to nerf.lol) That's why we grind, and more importantly that's why we don't grind in d2.

          • The fact that they invited slayerage has me optimistic. But seeing that they’re being flown there to see the new content has me suspicious. If they can avoid the urge of “we’re listening, but what if we did this”, and actually listen and engage, it’ll be a very productive summit. If the only takeaway, though, of this whole summit is reverting the loadout to D1 (primary/special/heavy), then it’ll be all worth it.

          • Would you rather have people currently playing to tell Bungie what’s right with this broken game or have people who don’t play anymore to tell them what’s wrong with their broken game?

          • Good. The creators who left D2 left for the same reasons as most other people.

          • At this moment content creators want the same things that we want. They are basically our representatives at this point. I don't consider that low any lower on the totem pole than our current political system.

          • This was the situation with The Division, and many other games. It does not bother me, because I have not invested as much time into D2 as Rick Kackis, Geekermon, etc. Also, because we can't talk with the developers at Bungie, our only way of expressing our opinions is on this forum, Reddit, and YouTube. The content providers actually read subscriber comments on YT. So they act as our Speaker, in a way. Did Bungie invite Ms5000WattsUS to their summit? She is hilarious.

            • More depth, RPG elements and more cool and unique loot to chase, doesn't take a genius to work that what the game needs. We need builds that make us think about what we use and offer different playstyles. They need to take a good look at diablo 3. The core gameplay is good, just feels stale.

Well, when you look at the feedback the ordinary players gives them on here or the bungie stream chat I'm not surprised they don't invite them.
