I’m thinking about picking up the Bioshock Collection.
I know that Infinite is set before 1 & 2 and the Dead at Sea DLC is almost a direct lead into the first Bioshock.
But I’m also guessing that the gameplay mechanics change from game to game. So playing the most recently released game first might mess up my experience with the older two.
Any suggestions?

chronological order unless you want to be confused.

1 ReplyWould you kindly play them in chronological order?
Lorewise it will make more sense.
I've played all of them many times and watched videos on the story line.
i still don't know what the -blam!- is going on
Play them in order of release.

1 ReplyMy favorite was bioshock infinite without a doubt . However playing 1 and 3 then the burial at sea episodes is how I did it then went back to bioshock 2 . When bioshock 2 came out I rented it and disliked the suit that covered up the screen. Played for 30 minutes then shut it off . So my order : 1,3, 2 . :)

Release order. Playing them chronologically will dampen the effect of the first one.

2 RepliesRelease order definitely. Once you start adding in the dimension traveling of infinite, it just makes the whole story weird. The skyhook in infinite was a neat idea but the vigors/plasmids and weapon upgrades were boring; far better in the first 2.

Release order. The original Bioshock is still the best one. Both the sequels where good but neither came close to the first one.

Edited by Swiftlock: 4/4/2018 6:54:48 AMOrder of games released. Once you hit the end of Infinite, you'll know why.

4 Replies1, 2, Infinite. Prequels are always made with the rest in mind, and you should pretty much never elect chronolgical order over release.
