The Tower is Empty.
I still log many hours here on D2, all of it solo. No one is left that I know. There are personal bucket list items that need attending. I’ve done one nightfall because most left months ago. However, I have an itch to map out NF strats. I’m a strike and patrol guy. Not a talker when it comes to headsets. Hell you really don’t need a mic for this game. The raid, which it is not by definition, is subpar compared to the strikes offered. So that’s off the table. And at this point, lfging to have a go is laughable. People would either not reply or just leave.
My point is, even with this update, the tower sits akin to a ghost town.

1 ReplyMy towers are always bustling. But they connect you via latency, so if you live in a remote area with few Destiny players, that could be the reason. Also LFG is a very valuable tool. Ive used it a few dozen times over the last few months and I nearly always get a group that finishes the activity.

9 RepliesRaid with the same 6 people 5 weeks in a row. You'll learn to appreciate the raid more. The guys I run it with all know what to do and have their rolls down, so its really quick and rewarding. I would run a raid over any of the strikes.

Not mine, lol. Plenty of people there. Trust me, raids are miles better then strikes and from what I've seen a hell of a lot more hands on/exciting then that traditional MMO type raid. A fair few of the guns are actually wortwhile to get now to. I dont blame you for being a solo player though. I avoid mic activities when possible. If you really want to though, just make it clear what raid, difficulty, fresh/checkpoint and your experience level. Please.

The only time I ever see the tower empty is when I'm set up to make solo strike runs.

4 RepliesImo, If you have a Itch for NF Strats, get a mic... Dont be that guy with no mic.. how are you going to discuss Strats with no mic? How are you going to make call outs with no mic? how are you going to talk and move as ONE if you cant talk to your team mates... You are right you dont need a mic for this game but if you want to play it to its fullest, i would get a mic..

In order for the tower to be empty there would have to be less that 26 people playing in the entire world. According to Destiny tracker 385,000 people played PvE yesterday. Thats a slight discrepancy don’t you think? It’s always full when I log on so if it’s empty when you log on you’re either lying or it’s a server issue. As for you having trouble trying to find a raid group try here. 1 Replyonly time its empty is because black screen problem, or because some other issue and eventually lots of people spawn in. i can always tell there is an issue when the vendor icons are there but nobody to talk to. walking to ikora and back often makes the vendors and other players appear. i have never ever seen an empty tower or farm, the fewest i have seen is at the farm only two of us - but then after killing ghaul, the only reason to visit the farm is hoping the cyptarch there might give different stuff from the engrams.

For me it’s the other way round. Other day I checked D1 and it surprised me at how empty it was compared to my D2 tower.

Towers always full every time I visit. Public spaces on each planet usually have 2-5 extra players. Not sure if you have something wrong with your NAT settings. Are you on PC? I play on Xbox and everything seems fine there.
