Error code marionberry. Bungie please help. It's definitely not a connection issue.

I had no issues before 1.1.4. I installed the new update. And now I can't load the game. I get the Marionberry error code at the title screen. Please help bungie.

  • On my household, most devices are wired. If you have network switches, reset those too. I had this issue and looking into it in the xbox settings, I noticed the IP address was 263 something. On a regular household with a router an address like that will NOT be used. I flip the power switch on it and after a few seconds the IP went from 0.0.0.0 to 192.168.1.<address I assign to it in router>. After that, all was good. Granted that happened after one real good reset of everything! Router, modem, xboxes, firmware updates... the works! So it may not neceseraly be the router, but something in between. Keep that in mind whenever you get the bitter marionberry.

    • The truth is Bungie disconnected your device due to inactivity, slow or unstable connection or just because they can. Most if not all of these creative names assigned to network error are caused by them. But it's easier to blame the customer, just like Commercial Banks. Overload network due to inefficient load balance will result is one of those errors too. That's why the generic solution is to turn off all devices, wait 5 minutes, then turn on everything. Their peer to peer philosophy instead of dedicated server is key here. You may play other network games but not Destiny. Their ports maybe busy. 🤔🤯🤪

      • Seems to be the update. Was able to play earlier but now I can't even log in on my Xbox. Can't be my wifi cause hulu worked fine on it and COD worked fine on my ps4.

      • Hi, Thank you for your report. If you are seeing error code MARIONBERRY, it indicates a problem with your networking setup. This can happen for a number of reasons, but often occurs after a WiFi blip, or when network or Parental Control settings have changed on your home network or game console. This error can show up when the router the console is connected through has gotten into a fundamentally bad state. Router reboots often help, but faulty firmware or failing hardware can lead to repeated occurrences of this error. To power cycle your modem or router please do the following:
1. Log off of Destiny 2. Turn off your PlayStation or Xbox console 3. Power-cycle your networking hardware (router, modem, etc.) by turning each item off, then waiting 30 seconds before turning them back on one by one, beginning with your modem 4. Once your home network is back up, turn on your PlayStation or Xbox console and relaunch Destiny
If you continue to see this issue after trying this step, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your router/modem for additional troubleshooting steps.
