The last two Far Cry games that released (4 and Primal) gave me some awesome experiences. It wasn't just because the games in themselves were good, but because I had turned the game difficulty up to hard and removed nearly all of the HUD.The string of deaths I had in the beginning trained me to be more reactionary and observant to the world around me; the world began to feel more natural and immersive in ways I cannot describe. There is no better way to experience this franchise so please, do yourselves a favor and do the same and REALLY take in the world.
As soon as you step off the helicopter (or rather, perhaps after the first mission since the car bit can be a little brutal) set your settings to the following:
GAMEPLAY
Difficulty - Hard
Aim Assist - Off
Autodrive - Manual
Driving and Shooting Aim Assist - Off
Weapon Tagging - Off
Friendly Fire - On
INTERFACE
World Icons - On
Everything Else - Off

Edited by Light Bearer: 4/2/2018 12:58:12 PMI agree with everything but the difficulty. Minimal HUD definitely makes it more realistic. I prefer story over challenge so I'm on easy at the moment, but what's NOT realistic is even still, some shirtless guy high on Bliss takes MULTIPLE 45/70 Gov't rounds to the chest from a few metres away. That's a huge round kid.

Tip to any and all if interested do all your outposts etc before completing the game as once you complete the main story you can’t go back and finish what you’ve missed.

4 RepliesFar Cry 5 should be called Shovel Knight: First Person. I took several places with only using shovels.

The world definitely looks nice. I’m on Xbox but I’m sure it’d look better on my pc. The gameplay is easy but realistic I guess. 1 shot to the head or center mass and they die. I’m just exploring right now. Flying and destroying silos is fun. Haven’t gotten far in the story at all

That opening sequence was tough on hard lol..

2 RepliesI did this with For Honor. They had a built in difficulty setting that turned off the block/aim assist, and I was like “Why don’t I take this a bit further?” and turned the entire UI off. It was pretty rewarding when I would kill someone I PvP.

1 ReplyI’ll have to give this a go. It definitely seems like it would make the game more immersive. Personally, I’ve always found the enemy markers to be a bit of an immersion breaker. The auto drive feature is absolutely one that needs to go.
