Dead Orbit created VEIST Foundry????

Dead Orbit has some fascinating story elements hiding under the surface if we dig a little deeper than initial glance. Why is it that their entire arsenal is only comprised of "golden age" weapons and Veist weapons? +++ "Golden Age" weapons, clearly themed to be reused weapons from before the Collapse. Designs resemble much of our current-day weaponry. Only Devrim and Hawthorne surviving in the EDZ drops "Golden Age" weapons other than the Gunsmith and DO. Is Dead Orbit only able to procure these ancient weapons after being abandoned by the other foundries? +++ VEIST weapons, a new foundry in Destiny 2. Designs are violent in appeal and sinister in function with attached blades and silencers, echoing stealth and assassination. Names include homages to scorpion stings, spider bites, and other venomous things. Other than occasional prototypes from the Gunsmith, only Asher Mir in the far reaches of our solar system has access to this foundry... aside from Arach Jalaal with Dead Orbit. They appear to have the entire VEIST arsenal exclusively under their control. Does VEIST simply sponsor Dead Orbit alone or is it more than that? Did Dead Orbit create VEIST after being abandoned by the other foundries following the Red War? It seems Dead Orbit has been left high and dry after the Red Legion's attack on the tower. They no longer have access to Omolon, Hakke, Suros, or the "New Tower" weapons that every other faction has access to. In Destiny 1, they sported weapons from every arsenal equally. It seems that things have changed. What do you think? Do you think factions should control their own weapon foundry to make faction choice more pivotal in the game?

    • I think that VEIST sponsor Dead Orbit because they're both edgy goth divas and it fits their aesthetic.

      • I've had a theory for a while that VEIST had a far more sinister connection, I think they could be a front for the Shadows of Yor, or run by them. Think about it, dark jagged weaponry all with the same colour scheme to Thorn, named after venomous things (similar to how Thorn had the poison effect), and given previous experience building the weapons of Sorrow it likely wouldn't be too much of a stretch to build similar weapons without the dark internals. Admittedly it's a bit of a stretch without any real hard evidence, but a faction seeking to leave Earth and the Traveller would be a good match for a group of "Dark Guardians"

        • If that were the case, I would kill for an exclusive FWC/Omolon union👌

        • Bringing up DO makes me feel conflicted. I love Viest, but all of the DO shaders and armor don’t look good on hunters. New monarchy looks amazing on my hunter, but I can’t stand Hakke weapons.
Besides the antiope-d. I like that weapon.
• You’re working off of information with no actual connections here. Dead Orbit has mostly VEIST weaponry because it fits their dark, fatalistic aesthetic. The FWC has mostly Omolon weapons because it fits their sleek, futuristic design. New Monarchy has mostly Hakke guns because it fits their practical, more grounded look. It’s literally just aesthetic. We have no reason to believe that Dead Orbit has been cut off in any way whatsoever from the foundries. It’s just a matter of appearance.

            • I've separated the "foundries" into 9, as far as I can tell. Feel free to correct me.

              • I think this is awesome in a lore aspect, having a faction as kind of a black sheep in the mix, They'd need to give Veist a little more Firepower for it to be a viable faction to pick. And yeah I think certain factions should get certain weapon Foundries, I think Suros Already sponsors New monarchy though, along with hakke. And that the vanguard and Omalon foundries already sponsor FWC. As a side note, Does FWC make the vanguards weapons, What Company has been making the weapons like Origin story or Better devils.
