Alright im just going to say it
Failsafe's malfunction voice is annoying and not funny
-
Failsafe seems to be an allusion to the false trope that women are naturally belligerent and contentious.
-
1 Reply“<It’s not murder if it’s robots!> -please visit me again! <Everyone I ever known is dead. And their bones are Dust.> -I am very lonely” This was the point I put Failsafe as one of my more favorite AI companions. But to each their own I say
-
She is sad
-
2 RepliesFailsafe is a blatant (female version) rip-off of Ordis in Warframe. The only difference is that she isn't as funny as she is annoying.

Edited by AlteraLateralus: 3/27/2018 1:33:51 PMSometimes she says cringeworthy things in cynical mode, but is otherwise one of the few enjoyable characters in the game. She reminds me of April from Parks and Recreation, one of my favorite characters.

2 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 3/26/2018 5:29:29 PMDisagree. I find her quite endearing....and one of the most interesting characters in the franchise. You just have to understand that she's a traumatized AI (her crew and all the colonists on board were murdered by the Vex and she couldn't stop it)..... ...and she's suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder. IOW, she couldn't cope with the emotional pain and the isolation....so she split herself into essentially two personalitiers. One personality that is her "rational" and "intellectual" functions, but devoid of emotion. So its inappropriately perky and cheerful ("Which one is the evil twin?" "Ghost, If I actually had feelings, they'd be hurt......") And another that she pushed all of her emotional functions off onto, and the only way that she can deal with all that pain and loss is to act like this surly, sarcastic teenager. Who is constantly taking jabs, mouthing off, and pretending like she doesn't care about anything, when she really does. What makes her endearing is that its clear that the too-cool-to-care is just a front, and she's willing to say what others are thinking but are too poite to say. "Cayde got caught stealing from the Vex. How come it didn't happen to the Cabal?" "Computing the Cayde unit's similarity to the Cabal at 0.001%..... ....and besides, Caye's like... you know......DUMB......" Then my personal favorites: "Drop them first, cap!!" and "It's not murder if its robots!!! What makes Failsafe interesting as a character is that interacting with us is slowly starting to heal her, and the unemotional half of her is starting to find its emotional voice again. Perhaps because we helped her to try to find some closure with what were the ultimate fates of her crew. Then there is the sheer irritation at having to deal with Cayde. His rogue persona has the ability to get under the skin of LOTs of women: "Cayde unit....I hate every one of your programs......" Reminds of the time when he and Eris were leading us on a strike, and Cayde says "Oh, I'll keep my ear to the ground" for us....and Eris replies, "Yes, and I'll try not to step on his head......"

1 ReplyI just deleted/restarted one of my characters to get the last 335 item I need so have been playing through the story again and forgot how annoying it is when you first meet her when Cayde is stuck in the loop on Nessus. "Hey kids, do you know what schizophrenia is? ... "
-
1 ReplyEdited by A Blues fan: 3/29/2018 2:05:31 PMI do like this exchange in the Nessus strike:
Cayde-6, shut your modulator

No you shut up

Guys, please, they're trying to kill us!
-
"If I have a feeling, I'd be hurt!"
-
Failsafe is by far the best new addition to the NPC’s. Even more so when you compare her to Asher Mir and Hawthorne.
-
Needs more Tsundere.
-
2 RepliesI'm gonna say it
i don't care you broke your elbow
-
1 ReplyI reeeeally miss the darker tone D1 had.
-
1 ReplyLook at it this way, she's an AI to a starship that's now beyond salvageable, watched all of her crew die in the crash or get killed by Vex, and she's been stuck on Nessus alone for the past five centuries or so. Taking all of that into account, I don't mind the quirkiness or the weird voice thing. Hell I've seen much much worse from AIs with screws loose.

2 RepliesFire is hot ice is cold fish live in water
-
4 RepliesI used to think this too. And then I met Asher and now I think Failsafe is ok...

ill be honnest here, i enjoy 90% of the humor in destiny 2, as i did also in warframe... it depends on someones taste of comedy, it wasn't directed at kids lol the point of it is to be completly obvious and not hard to understand, since alot of sarcastic jokes in games not everyone gets.. yes i understand that not everyone likes the jokes in the game or just that specific character ,i however enjoy it all ^^, and im 23 years old so no it has nothing to do with age heh it just depends on your sense of humor, i especially find cayne funny haha love his humor

There's only very few quotes I deem funny. End of Inverted Spire strike. Ghost: Admit it, we did great! Failsafe's bad AI: Technically the Captain did. You live in his backpack. Ghost: Ugh, switch off! Inverted Spire after killing those two Cabal majors. Failsafe: Plus, you know, Cayde's dumb. Ghost: You're both depressing and unhelpful. Actually it's the Ghosts final line here which I like, though. It's also true.

4 RepliesWe'll have to agree to disagree. I want her on a gun like in Borderlands.
-
I find her funny most of the time. AI can be so silly. And when am I able to change my ghost's voice he's so boring.
-
Oh I know-just awful. Apart from the “boop” bit-that makes me chuckle.
-
How? Exactly?
-
What do you think they were aiming for
-
3 RepliesIt seems that the voice acting was targeting young kids. Also, failsafe seems like a direct rip off of ordis in warframe except failsafe is a female voice.
-
3 RepliesIt's probably funny if you're under 12 years old. Same with Asher Mir. Voice acting to appeal to little kids.
