Depends on the type of microtransactions. If it's just camos/skins you can buy then that's not enough to justify a free game but maybe free expansions.
If it's lootboxes and in game currency then I guess it's fine but I'd prefer that it not get in the way of the game too much via selling high powered gear/locking the player out of necessary game functions (inventory slots in Warframe. And don't give me that "hurr durr just trade ingame and get the plat for it that way". They shouldn't be locked in the first place and they kill the game for people who want to collect warframes but can't get the necessary funds to unlock them.)

I began playing Warframe 3 months ago and I already stopped completely because of them locking basic game functions behind a boring trading system or Microtransactions. And people will say "They have to make their money somehow." but don't make players pay you by locking character and inventory slots away Metal Gear; Survive style. Digital Extremes would get crucified if they weren't Free to Play for doing that.

While I do agree that WF should have a way to get at least some slots, by Mastery or whatnot, I have less of a problem with that. WF is a FTP game so IMO it is less of an issue, it would be a whole different story if I had paid $60 for Warframe.
