Why isn't she stalking us anymore? If she is, then why didn't she help us when we lost the tower and nearly died forever?
She's also probably really annoyed that we lost her gun too.

I think someone at bungo said they feel they wrapped up her story nicely. Same with eris ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
1 ReplyIt’s simple the timeline she was from was destroyed because we killed the heart of the black garden and thus she no longer exists or more precisely she never existed and her gun is lost in a paradox Osiris’s lost profacy has her gun because he predicted the future where the vex won and the stranger exsisted but she is gone and all that remains is her gun and our memory of her

Why isn't she stalking us anymore?
How do you know she isn't? Maybe she's just BETTER at it.
-
She’s retired
-
2 RepliesShe didn't have time to explain why she didn't have time to explain. She falls under folklore now. We never really encountered her at all... Despite her stalking us, giving us her gun and us completing an exotic quest to get another gun like hers. That right there is how not to tell a story devs.
Why isn't she stalking us anymore? If she is, then why didn't she help us when we lost the tower and nearly died forever? We all know that's too much for bungie to do.

Locked behind Dlc because bungie is Luke likes taking money 💰

She -blam!-ed off like batman

She wanted to change a future where the black heart survived so she traveled back in time and told us to kill it. What did that change in the future? only she knows.
-
You changed the future. All other guardians failed and as such created her future. You defeated the black garden and as such created a new future. How and why she was there speaking to you at the end and giving your rifle was pretty much a time travel blooper. Never really thought that far lol At least this is what ive come to understand from the responses As for the little light reference in CoO, well it may indicate that at some point, before becoming an exo she did work with Osiris, but ultimately, the one we saw no longer exists. My theory anyway
-
2 RepliesShe doesn't need us anymore. She never served the last city or the Traveller. She served a warmind, the nine or the queen. Think of her as a spy from another nation who has an agenda that goes along with your objective. She's willing to help but not give away her secrets. They didn't make that very clear in D1. We never found out who she was communicating with or who she worked for.
-
She's going to randomly appear, tell us the path we're on will lead us to ruin, then pull us through time back to D1. Makes perfect sense.
-
She was folklore
-
3 RepliesShe was hot!!!
-
Luke Smith declared that her story was "properly exited" because she gave you a gun and vanished in a cloud of sparkles. Bungie storytelling at its finest.
-
Went back in time, saw the fall of Bungie and the ride of Tess. Went back to her own timeline to warn everyone

5 RepliesShes playin Monster Hunter..... Destiny poo Bungievision👎

Edited by CheshireGrin92: 3/21/2018 7:30:29 AMMy going theory about the stranger is that she is a survivor of the collapse that somehow got ahold of the vex time travel (or whatever the hell it is) tech. She has seen a future in which we basically save the universe and thus knows where and when to find us.
-
Bungie got bored and added more characters whose stories they wouldn’t finish.
-
If you want to look at it one way once we defeated the Black Heart the reason for her going back in time was gone. It is like the whole Terminator thing, once they had stopped Skynet the future changed. While in the concept of the Multiverse that event still happened in some universe, the universe and timeline we are in it dosen't. Of course in those movies they had to keep coming up with new ways that Skynet would become sentient so they could keep making movies. This is a common Sci-Fi troupe where upon completion of said mission the version that went back in time no longer exists but the memories and at times the material items of that person do. Then there is others where they do continue to exist since they are now outside of the original timeline. But I don't think Bungie had written it that way or had plans for her to continue in our timeline. If we meet her again it may not be the same version that we originally knew, she would have no knowledge of our original meeting or the events that took place. This could explain why we have a exotic version of her gun in D1. There is another timeline where she never gave us her gun and it was modified and then sent back in time. The card for it suggests several different creators of the gun, One is even Praedyth
Deliah's timeline analysis indicates the weapon was built by Praedyth, who based it on his own version of the Exo Stranger's Rifle, and then set it adrift in a time ripple.
That brings up the whole Vault of Glass and the mind fook it can be when it comes to time and logic. But there is a line from the game that could shed some light on this.
"No, I was not forged in light. But I believe where our paths cross, ground could break."
She is not a Guardian, one brought back by the Traveler. So either she was around before the Collapse and skipped it all by going forward in time. This is backed up by things like Ghost noticing her weapon has parts that "shouldn't yet exist". Or she was created in the future where mankind has discovered a way to create Exos again. Praedyth while dead in out time is alive in some tangent Timeline and there is reasoning to believe he either meet the Exo Stranger or at least the people who equipped her and snagged a version of her gun for himself. I am rambling sorry, she is one of my favorite pieces of lore. But to answer your question as far as we know she is now gone from our timeline. She may be back in the future or ceased to exist all together but her mission the reason she was jumping around in time is over. Or I could just give you the answer that people think is funny and makes them look so edgy. Folklore tho, Bungie has no time to explain why they have no time to explain.
-
they already stated that Stranger will never come back, and that her story was over. Luke Smith even stated this in an interview. It kind of sucks that they killed off an interesting character for good. But if Bungie is smart, they should try to bring back some Destiny 1 characters in the next game.
-
She gave you a cool gun and transmatted out of there. I have a theory that she's an agent of Charlemagne or another warmind, maybe the warminds found out about the Black Garden, sent her to investigate and later find a guardian capable of dealing with the threat. I think it'd be most interesting if Charlemagne was the Exo Stranger, and had subtly manipulated events behind the scenes of vanilla D1 to cause us to reactivate Rasputin's array and later followed us before contacting us about the Black Garden. That's how i'd do her story anyway, i've no idea if bungie would be able to come up with anything good after how they handled Osiris and Saint-14

Retconn.

She wasn't canon. And is now lore.

She's locked away because she didn't get the season pass
