Admit it Bungie, firing Joe Staten got you in this absolute mess

What a DISASTER. I mean I’m just finally piecing it all together. How the Leviathan and Osiris with the Mercury area were more then likely content meant for a more complete, meatier, mirror finish polished Destiny 1. That cutscenes and NPC’s on the planets we visited were originally part of the whole freakin idea. That’s just NUTS! The Dreadnaught was gonna take place over the entire final 3rd of the game? we would have all 4 planets and then that? It finally makes way more sense the live teams were able to put together rise of iron. Sound clips, cutscenes, the entire Plaguelands and archons forge, it’s hard to believe but it seems much of the actual content here was already developed for the most part, and it makes far more sense that the live team didn’t develop it, they were stitching back together what was once a really great suit, and now patched and horrible looking with the wrong pieces in the wrong places. Makes you wonder, maybe all this mix and matching of coding and constant modification to the progression is also where all the glitches came from. All the atrocious issues with the progression itself, requiring revamps a few times in the originals life span. I feel like the whole leadership team at Bungie is responsible for this mess because they let it happen, Joe was a tremendous part of the team and I thought developers who worked with each other over a decade weren’t just friends but family. Until he’s back, every attempt will be overshadowed by the feeling of regret, the feeling of having a classic car passed down to you and letting it rust and throw a rod because you didn’t even know how to change the oil. While the project was Bungies, if this guy helped create progression AND lore and plot and character development, it seems like it was more of his thing then anyone else’s. His work encompassed the whole vibe of the visuals and the reasons behind the sound design. Micro transactions can stay, the horrible dlc drops using previous content can continue, I am sticking with d1 cause at least the content isn’t as tampered with. Oh it’s tampered with as hell but you guys had even more time to sully and destroy content based around his ideas for the sequel. Because I’m SURE content from D1, not just animations and assets but full on areas, got molested and turned into Destiny 2. And I’m sure you ruined the story and lore. The whole idea of Ghaul probably wasn’t even his, I get that it’s the companies game and with him gone they need to press forward, but if they had all his ideas prior to the super cut, they should have gone there first. Technically, the EDZ is on Earth and Earth was a destination in the original. Save for a color palette change, one could easily mistake Nessus or Io for Venus although that may be a bit more unlikely, it’s still quite possible. Time taken to develop D2 isn’t indicative that the content we got was due to hard vigorous work through the development time. It is also entirely possible that Work occurred at a much slower pace since assets and areas and full on developed and dressed up content was waiting to be repurposed for future revenue. D3 should be a total revamp of the first story as unmolested as possible. Then you give us a brief and quick way to get through only the best parts of d2. And d3s story and content can then start from there, as dlc packs, to be done as planned all those years ago now, and to make it right with fans, with joe, Marty, and even themselves and Activision. And from there d4 can reset what a sequel for a mmo style shooter like this should look like, because horrendously modifying pasted content from previous ideas DOESNT WORK at this point Bungie you can keep your updates, I feel only Joe Staten can save this game and even given the opportunity he probably won’t be back. Well there goes that! GG, Bungie just owned all of us; like a team of try hards in trials waiting to team shot each and every one of us! RIP what you were supposed to be Destiny! I've done a bit of research on Destiny's cut content over the last few days heres what i know, keep in mind most of this is word of mouth from various devs and people like Jason Schreier. Destiny 1 was planned to at least 5 Destinations at launch and possibly 3 raids, we got 4 of the destinations with the dreadnaught being resold later on as DLC. Crotas End was cut from the base game which explains why it was released 3 months later yet we get a lair in D2, as for the 3rd cut raid we don't know for sure what it was, it could have been the reef raid which was leaked and never spoken of again it could have been kings fall. From that we know that the first comet was not meant to have the dreadnaught instead it was meant to have the EDZ and possibly europa as 2 destinations, instead EDZ was pushed back to D2 and no one knows what the deal with Europa is, there was never any game player showed after all. Its even entirely possible that EDZ was meant to be in the base game and Europa was meant to be the sole destination in the expansion. Rise of iron was most likely completely developed within the year it released and was fresh content. Now onto Destiny 2, obviously first off we have the EDZ being cut content from the first game but there are some who speculate that IO was also cut from Destiny 1. People stating that it looked like mars and that they heard about the pyramidian being related to an oasis on mars, this would make sense as there is a cabal base on mars and the vex would have an important structure there like VoG. It is also speculated that there was an entire raid cut from the pyramidian. Please keep in mind most of this stuff on IO is mostly speculation and there really isn't definitive proof that it was cut and recolored as it never showed up in any trailers like the dreadnaught and EDZ Mercury is rumoured to cut from Destiny 1, we know this because leaks have stated that Destiny 1's original story had a lot to do with Osiris and mercury. Once again there is no proof of this other than the fact there were crucible maps and other locations in Destiny 1, this remains as likely speculation. The next DLC is rumoured to be cut content but we really have no proof or idea if it is yet. To sum up, you're probably right most of it is cut content here is a useful source from a bungie dev or ex dev who hid his identity to answer some questions. It could be some guy talking out of his ass about what happened but a lot of what he said ended up lining up with what we know now so its an interesting read and a useful source. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/70895980 As for Joseph staten, what i want is for him and marty to work on something again and for Bungie devs to join them instead of it being vice versa, there is still a lot of individual talent from bungie devs and i personally believe its the Engine, writing team and upper management causing a lot of these problems. if there is anything incorrect with what i have said tell me so i can correct or remove it, i don't want to spread misinformation
