For me, it would have to be Halo 3. I was younger when I got started with it, but 3 was where I played with my father the most, and it was where I met many of the original WorkPLacers. It was also the first Halo where I began to do really well in multiplayer. I miss you old friend, hopefully one day you get a remaster.
Edit: I'd like to apologize to the people who do enjoy Halo Reach. I've expressed my opinion in an unfair manner. I won't change the poll options, but if you'd like, just put Reach in the responses for your preferred Halo game. Again, I am sorry for trying to force my opinion on those here.

halo reach SWAT is what made me good at getting headshots

The original, even got it on pc and was in a top 5 ranked clan on the clan wars website if any of you remember those days.
the clan was m2k I believe
CE made me have nightmares of the flood (i was very young when it came out) so i was not allowed to watch my brothers play CE and 2. Got to 3 and i was allowed to play it so i played 3 and then CE and 2. Yes i had a strict childhood 😂

Probably combat evolved, got me into gaming at a young age.

2&3, but mostly 2 taught me how to play FPS Halo is the reason Xbox kids are way better than PlayStation children at PvP No game takes as much skill

Halo 3 was my first halo game I played online with, halo 3 is what got me started and also initiated my addiction to tbaggin newbz (especially the holiday noobs when they come around, oh the satisfaction)

Halo 3 was the peak. Halo died at 4

Probably a tie between Halo 3 and Halo Reach for me. Halo 3 was the game that properly introduced me to the franchise (I'd played Halo 2 at a friend's house beforehand, but we only played part of one mission together and it didn't really stick in my memory all that well). I have fond memories of Halo 3 custom games especially. There was no roster or LFG back then, all you had was your friends list. I remember getting into lobbies of 16 people and playing things like Fat Kid, Halo, Jenga, Hide and Seek, Bull Run, and other popular gametypes. I enjoyed the campaign, even though 12 year old me didn't really understand what was going on. With all that being said, I think I enjoyed Halo Reach more. The custom games scene was just as vibrant for me as it was back in Halo 3, and the addition of the roster made it even easier to see what your friends were doing and party up. The changes and additions to Forge Mode made it easier for people to create amazing maps, and the updated File Browser made it easier to find them. The armour customisation was greatly improved, with more specific customisation options, multiple variants for armour pieces, firefight voices, and armour effects lending to more individuality for each player. The gunplay was crisp and fun, with armour abilities adding variety and a much needed increase of pace to gameplay without changing up the original Halo formula too much. Firefight came back in a big way, and provided a nice option for players who didn't want to PvP and didn't want to replay the campaign over and over again. Halo Reach basically took everything good about Halo 3 and made it better, at least in my eyes. It still stands today as my second most played game of all time behind Destiny.

9 RepliesSo how was Reach a children’s game?

Halo Reach. Most fun I had playing a Halo game. Been playing since Halo CE.

Edited by Jotaro Kujo PhD: 3/19/2018 8:43:29 PMUnquestionably Halo 3. It's not my favorite Halo anymore (CE for days), but it was the reason I got an Xbox in the first place.

Edited by Bardyl: 3/19/2018 8:16:41 PMHalo 3 was my first Xbox Live game. I spent a countless amount of hours playing it. Collecting all the skulls. Completing legendary difficulty. Getting every armor I could. Trying to achieve the highest rank and raise my true skill. However the best part was the friends I made and the times we had together. Those I knew in real life as well as newfound online friends. Every day after school we'd play custom games or matchmaking. We'd perform glitches in campaign we saw online. As well as in forge mode. One of our final endeavors together was earning Recon armor through the 7 vidmaster challenges. Overall, it was the most influential game I've played. Nostalgia will certainly blind me when it comes to it, I can't help it. Without a doubt, this game gave me hours upon hours of fun.

Halo 2 is where remains my favorite halo game because it’s the first one I ever played. I might very well be the first console game I ever played. It’s why I became a gamer.

1 ReplyI applaud OP for not putting Reach as an option. But he shouldn't have stopped at Reach. Halo 4, 5, and Wars shouldn't have been in the options either.

This shows the age of the forums, shouldn't be surprised...

Halo 2 was kinda fun, halo 3 was a little extra. Halo reach was bungie last good game. Halo 5 pvp imo is the best PVP game I’ve played in terms of balance and internet connection. (Although I never been good at halo pvp) Halo 6 should be REALLY great.

To be fair, I've only played the original trilogy and a bit of Reach. Halo 2 pretty much ruled my gaming life in middle school, I used to take my old Xbox over to my friends house and play together, usually in 1v1 or 2v2 matches with his brothers.

Never owned an Xbox in my life but halo 3 is probably in my top 10 most played games, that's how good it was.

Halo 2 is the game that actually got me into shooters. I played Goldeneye on the N64 with family, but that was really it. Halo 2 is when I started to care about them.
-
1 ReplyHalo 2, played it a lot with my dad when I was young, little me got scarred by the experience that was outskirts on legendary

2 RepliesEdited by Edgin Mor: 3/18/2018 10:16:18 PMReach? You know, the only halo with decent servers, excellent custom games and a new kind campaign (tho halo 3's campaign was good).

Edited by Capt Explodabob: 3/19/2018 2:23:48 AMCombat Evolved. This answers extends to anybody who's played almost any FPS in the past seventeen years—whether they know it or not.

Halo: Reach, because it was the first M rated game I got.
-
I put in more hours into Halo Reach than I did with any other game, I might have put more hours into Fallout 3 on the pc... but I'm not sure. However, halo 3 was my answer because it was the game that introduced me to the friends I would eventually make in college... and because it will always be my fondest halo game thing.

Halo 3's the first ever FPS shooter I played, so I give a lot of credit to that game for introducing me to the genre!

Destiny 1, thats right come at me
