So I'm at the point in the game where I have every exotic and Xur can do nothing for me. It would be nice if Xur could sell Masterwork cores since they seem to be the rarest resource in the game. If not Xur is there any other NPC that could do this? I was thinking Xur would be best to keep them somewhat rare to get, maybe even making them a one time a week purchase like the fated engram if you really wanted to limit things.
Edit: People seem to be worried that this would take the grind away and I get that since we don't have much to grind for at this point. I'm suggesting a limited amount of 5-10 per week and I really don't think that would be game breaking or take away from the grind if your trying to masterwork all of your stuff. Also I'm really just trying to find other stuff for Xur to offer because once you have all Exotics there is nothing.
Edit 2: Something else you must remember many people that play this game don't do raids or trials and currently that's by far the best way to get master works, I feel that an avenue to grab some masterwork cores once a week is not a bad idea for the people that don't play the hardest two things in the current game.

Xur direct selling cores is too scary. Especially when reload speed is the best MW roll perk on 2/3's of the weapons. Game breaking! Meanwhile, in the dregs of the tower... Informed folks keep "grinding" the Cryptarch, or exotics from the vault collection. But don't tell anyone about it, might wind up being nerfed.

He will.

4 RepliesEdited by YonaRulz: 3/17/2018 8:04:11 PMNo way, masterworks make such a huge difference. They are way too valuable to sell. (heavy sarcasm)

2 RepliesYes, 25+ shards per core.

Got my vote

4 RepliesEdited by ElBambino: 3/17/2018 1:52:33 AMI say great idea, but with just a...few, caveats; 1. You can only buy 4 MW cores a month (if you can buy them unlimited then it becomes rather pointless) and 2. MW Cores cost $75k each. (Oh, just in case I wasn't clear, $75,000 or 10,000 shards for each ME core). Am I being a smart ass? No. Because the rarity of MW Cores is one of the few things Bungie got right for D2. They are supposed to be rare and not just handed to you because...reasons, whatever they are.

8 Repliesthe 3 of coins should make them drop more frequent

1 ReplyI would like to get Masterwork cores from dismantling exotics instead.

FUK YES

The exotics lost all their rarity since the three coins came out and now the new exotic engram, our friendly octopus with each expansion, is obsolete a few weeks ago, the sale of cores would destroy the value of the masterpieces in just one weekend, I think I should sell other things as you say your core of master weapons with a maximum per account so as not to devalue the effort of obtaining a masterpiece. At the same time, the implementation of selling weapons missions or exotic armor (which are justified as missions of nine or not) that brings 3 as a maximum would be a good advantage to introduce the lore of these weapons / armor, but are just ideas . You have to give the favorite vagabond a new value, otherwise it will be as useless as amanda holiday and your motorcycles and green ships.

1 ReplyWhere is xur bye the way
-
i would dimantle my masterworks, but they are all to famous (everybody uses them in crucible, but they clash with my play style)
-
Have zur sell other stuff, something please sparrow upgrades, etc unique shaders

5-10 per week actually seems reasonable, it wouldnt remove the grind completely it would make it just a bit easier to get them as apposed to playing for a week straight and only getting 3 masterworks that your not going to use
-
Would love that

1 ReplyI want to masterwork as many things as possible but I want to work for them. I would prefer if a masterwork gave me just one core a little less often. I think it's time for Xur to get a lot more expensive or use a much rarer currency than legendary marks, or even just get rid of him altogether. I want more things to grind for, not less
-
1 ReplyUhm no? Masterworks is literally the only thing that you can grind for in this game... You just want everything handed to you.

I think if the game didn’t hand everything out so easily (exception being a few ornaments) from the start, if getting items was actually hard AND people in general didn’t complain about not getting everything in 2 days; Bungie could’ve used the vendors a lot better. Xur should’ve been exciting, at least for a few weeks. As it stands, unfortunately things are pretty easy to get and without some other changes, PLEASE NO.

4 RepliesNah, would take away the grind.

1 ReplyWhat I got from your post... Bungie please make a version of the game where I already have everything there is to get without needing to play the game. How about this instead... Make it so Xur can BUY dupe exotics! Like the 6 Stag helmets I own The 4 Transversive Steps I own The 5 Vespers of Radius I own 3 Jade Rabbits. The list goes on and on

Edited by JensBoef: 3/16/2018 12:16:53 PMIt think Bungie wants everything in the game to be RNG with the only exception how you can get Aeon Swifts/Safes/Souls. So if Xur sells masterwork cores, that would be too predictable.

1 ReplyNo. This is literally the only thing people are actively grinding for.
-
No, Bungie don't listen to this!

5 RepliesNot much of a raider but did Calus and Argos and walked away with 5 Masterworks. 2 Weapons and 3 armor pieces. What's funny I decided to buckle down because I wanted the Midnight Coup before the next update and even had 10 cores ready to go for it. First run Dogs and got it to drop as a MW. The other stuff I didn't need so dismantled and got 9 cores. For a lot of people the only reason to do Raids and Trials is for that grind to get Master Works. In a game where meanful grinds is lacking having Xur sell them even if they are super expensive, would lessen the game. Some things should be hard to get and require more than a night or two of playing per week.
