Seriously, why is there this limit?
You create something like aeon armor that helps the team as a whole, but who's going to give up Celestial, or Orpheus to run an aeon armor?
I guess in general I don't understand why they limit it to 1 item equipped.

Your right, if they keep making mediocre exotic armors then you should be able to equip more then one. Exotic armors should all be amazing and really strong.

3 RepliesThe thing is most people think Exotics are meant to be super OP. They are not, they are designed to create a playstyle around and if done right can be devastating. Add more than 1 and it would just be a shitshow. Imagine a Hunter running around with ST0MP-EE5 and Shadow Dragon chest and for fun Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves. Yea screw that. How about a Titan with Mask of the Quiet one with Doom Fang Pauldron, Lion Rampant and Crest of Alpha Lupi NOPE NOPE oh Hell no And finally the one that would keep me up at Night a Warlock with. Nezarec’s Sin with Karnstein Armlets and Transversive Steps. There would be broken controllers all over the world. There could be something said about the weapons. They used to be MUST HAVE G-HORN powerful. But now they fit little niche builds that combined with the right mods and subclasses can be pretty damn fun. and maybe a little more useful than a legendary. Back in the day with D1 setup you could have run a Ice Breaker and a G-horn with Hawkmoon oh that would have been fun. But now the best I can think for in PvE is the Colony till you get to the boss with I don't know the RIskrunner and Sunshot. PvP better Legendaries out there for that no need to run more than one if at all.

Them *censored* didn’t want us to ever be powerful. It’s like just putting in the tip. Just enough to get wet but not really having fun.
-
Edited by ELRaSun: 3/16/2018 4:36:29 PMAs with more other power related questions.... “Because PvP.” I always thought it sucked that they designed exotics which CLEARLY were meant to match each other’s look, but never allowed you to rock them together. Example: Ruin Wings and Mk 44. Even if, like in The Division, certain combinations would nullify certain perks so it’s not OP. The fact they went back and made VOG weapons “exotic” so you could only carry one at a time in AOT says it all. Nerf mindstate.
-
It’s a holdover from destiny 1, when some exotics were actually fun and did amazing things.

1 ReplyI've been playing d1 a lot lately and was thinking how cool it would be to have both nothing manacles and obsidian mind on. Or sunbreakers and heart of Praxis fire. This could work for PvE.
-
No one knows. Just bungie trying to stop all and any forms of fun i suppose. I remember lookin at exotics in d1 and thinking wow some of these would synergise with eachother really well, and hoping they would let us wear more than 1 eventually. Nope, that like so many other dreams for this game is dead.
-
I mean the obvious solution is allow two (or more) exotics in PvE and limit it to one in PvP. That would let folks work out synergies and stuff for strikes and raids. Honestly they should really just add PvE set armor like they kind of sort of did with the MIDAs, but the desire to keep PvE and PvP locked together probably means it won't happen...
-
Ophidian aspect with skull of arckhama (however the fk u spell it) Wud be devastating in pve and pvp
-
Back in d1 exotics were some of the most powerful items. Unfortunately they have lost most of their power and are nothing more then special cosmetics. Bungie, in their infinite wisdom, overlooked the fact that the reason they were limited to one no longer applies and didn't make adjustments for d2.
-
2 RepliesIt's a hold over from D1, where exotics offered OP perks or perk combinations, and multiple equipped exotics would just make a complete mockery of any challenge (not that some loadouts didn't already). With D2, exotics just grant bonus ammo.
-
As of right now since most exotics really don’t feel exotic it would be cool to equip more then one... hopefully the changes they make to them fix that but I doubt it... it’ll go against their hatred towards the power fantasy we had in D1
-
To all those who say the D2 exotics are blah... HOPEFULLY the upcoming changes to the exotics will change that (#MakeExoticsGreatAgain)... at which point you will be glad that your PvP enemies cannot equip multiples.
-
6 RepliesHow can we gain ammunition for our weapons by killing enemies, who carry completely different guns and even weapon types? IRL, you can't even safely shoot 9x17mm ammo out of a 9x19mm weapon.
-
Well imagine having the Gjallerhorn, Icebreaker and last word all on one guardian at the same time. In d1 it made sense to limit it. In D2 if you had all exotics on, you'd still be weaker than a lvl 6 guardian in D1.

Bungie=Antifun

Edited by bakenfunk1: 3/15/2018 6:09:21 PMJust too much "special" and "Power" .... Your Guardian would explode from He-Man like power OD. i mean... have you felt how POWERFUL D2 exotics are... You couldn't handle that much meat on your burger.
-
5 RepliesBecause they can't balance what we have... if you were to equip only exotics, the game would crash and your console would burst into flames. Codings hard mmmmmmk.
-
5 RepliesIn short you could have made some INSANE builds D1.. My favorite would have been Aclyophage Symbiote (member?) Claws of Ahamkara ...-blam!- it strap a Nighthawk to my genitals and call it chest armor. Bones of Eao Essentially 4 Nighthawk shots. 2 stickies. And triple jump *drolls*
-
Even just 1 day a week; all Exotic Tuesday! Equip what you like, never understood why they made exotics that looked like they were from a set when you could only equip one! Bungie fuzzy logic I guess!
-
Edited by Blankman007: 3/15/2018 1:43:39 PMBecause in D1, exotics were powerful. In D2, most exotics are just yellow legendaries. You know, for PVP balance so they could really ruin the ga.... errrr...... make it an esport.
-
1 ReplyIt made sense in D1 when exotics were powerful, but now it seems pointless.
-
8 RepliesFashion disaster if i could put all the exotic armors on. Plus, no shaders on exotics. So nothing matches. Must be great looking like frankensteins monster.
-
2 RepliesI think with the Aeon armour, Bungie is going in a pretty interesting direction, but just poorly implemented. I think there should be fireteam specific exotics that don't take up the exotic slot like the Aeon armour and it could be expanded on later on.
-
The aeon armor is a nod to organized f ireteams. If you don't have one, don't bother with it.
-
Think that's more for PvP. Why would anyone use celestial in PvP?
