These gauntlets are a good idea in principle, as they are designed to turn a guardian into a great support for their teammates, but they fail in practice. Simply put they need to do more to be an attractive option.
In Destiny 1 the Memory of Skorri was a great example of a support item that got used a lot in both end game PvP and PvE. If the Memory of Skorri's innate ability was folded into the Aeon Cult gauntlets and the scope of the current exotic perk expanded to include more abilities it would improve their utility to no end. However the gauntlets would also need to provide a tangible bonus to the wearer, as most people would need a reason to give up their exotic armour slot beyond an altruistic desire to help their team.
This is my suggestion...
- Increased reload speed for equipped weapons, say +20 reload speed.
- (Titans and Hunters) Using charged melee and class abilities grants both grenade and class ability energy to nearby allies.
- (Warlocks) Using charged melee and grenade abilities grants both grenade and class ability energy to nearby allies.
- When super meter is full nearby allies supers recharge faster for a short period of time on getting a kill. This period could be say 30 seconds, but would not refresh on getting another kill whilst active, thus forcing them to stay in the fight to get the perk active.
- Aeon Cult allies receive greatly increased benefit from these abilities.
This promotes a team orientated style of play as teams with one or two guardians using these gauntlets get increased access to their grenades, class abilities and supers, whilst the guardians using them get improved reload speed on all of their weapons. This would be of great use in both end game PvP and PvE activities.
What do you all think? Would these changes convince you to use them?

5 RepliesWHAAAAAT?!? You want to make the rarest exotic in the game good? Hell yeah!
I actually do like them, but their a bit...unfair to the hunters and titans...wheres OUR fun ability recharge?
It's also a shame because they all look so cool. I swear, my Titan has beefier arms than Lord Shaxx.

If people actually used teamwork in this game then I would have some more perspective. However this is the game where people complain about super recharge rate being slow when they don't want to kill things, generate orbs, and or let others do it. In general just play poorly. Which by the way I use them, and or was fairly often recently for fun. Titans don't want to throw up their barrier whatsoever unless maybe when they are dying. Much like how people don't super. Warlocks may throw more nades, but I am not sure they are even paying any attention.
