No one wants this... why take away radar for competitive and trials?
If anything, I’d like to see more radar. A knucklehead radar type item for titans and warlocks or the return of third eye perk on weapons or removal of voidwalker blink radar penalty, etc. Radar nerfs remove awareness and strategy. It will be more lurking around corners and team huddling. That doesn’t sound like fun.
It seems like you create unneeded problems with every fix. Why?

I can see how it will make certain players and teams much more cautious and campy. But the constant feedback Bungie has been receiving is that there are no more 1 v 3 takedowns for the streamers that need that type of thing to get viewers. This change allows for the potential of getting in a grenade and a few shots before the opposing team has time to fully react. Combine that with faster movement and closing speed and Bungie may have delivered the plausible 1 v 3 "play" for higher skill players. This change also has the potential to further punish solo PvP players since communication in a no-radar environment is a HUGE advantage. It's not a change that I want, but I see why Bungie is doing it (responding to player feedback as usual). Careful what you ask for (again).

1 ReplyThey need to shorten its range. Its a motion tracker right? I don't mind having radar, but I don't want you to have my direction from halfway across the map. The maps are already so small that you can visually see me.

1 ReplyEdited by OleGeezerThumbs: 3/10/2018 9:36:30 PMI think no radar is a bad idea. If I’m 100% wrong, I’ll eat crow but we’ll see in a few weeks. People are inherently scared, don’t believe me... why do so many only use the meta weapons (450 autorifle, rockets, colony)? They’re not the most interesting weapons to use (except the colony but that weapon is more of a goof). They’re safe.... to preserve KD, to get more easy kills, to not get tea bagged by Joe Dbag. The better players don’t care about radar or the meta... I get it. The problem is these matches won’t be populated by purely better players. There will be scared little rabbits with their backs to the corner.... or maybe not. Go play COD and you’ll see. The part that bugs me is knowing how long it takes Bungie to fix these types of problems. If it is a problem, we won’t see a fix for months. ...But that’s just my take.

1 ReplyEdited by Lyrro: 3/11/2018 5:46:15 PM
Radar nerfs remove awareness and strategy.
Have you ever played a serious pvp shooter that didn't have radar? Having a radar that always tells you exactly where the enemy is at all times completely removes the need for awareness and strategy. Keep an eye on that radar and you will always know when you are being flanked or when your opponents are moving and where they are going. You know when they are pushing or when they are seperated, and you always know exactly where they are coming from and even exactly when they are going to come around the corner. I don't think completely removing the radar is the answer, but don't pretend that always having one makes the game more tactical or require more skill. The reason games these have radars is to make the game more accessible to players, which means lowering skill gaps and finding ways to make less skilled pvp'ers feel like they are better than they are. Not trying to sound like an elitest, my kd will show that I couldn't care less about pvp in D2, I just know a thing or two about psychology in video games.

4 RepliesDoesn't removing the radar just mean that fireteam players will trounce single player teams even harder?

It is fantastic idea. Without radar d2 dies faster so I am happy with this update.
-
Idk man, I like the nerfed radar. If anything can we get inferno perma-added for those who want diversity?
-
Anybody else come to Destiny from hardcore mode Battlefield? No radar is perfectly okay with me.

3 RepliesAs long as people like you are angry and overly dramatic, my heart will always be happy

2 RepliesWhy are you mad about terrible ideas being implemented into the game? I love them simply because it destroys the game MORE and MORE people stop playing. Which will cause the end results of Bungie doing something about it by listening to the community for once. Come at me Bungie, show me all the terrible ideas. I love seeing your "hard work" fall..

I mainly tried to play Inferno matches, because of the no radar

I remember when Bungie first tried this for ToO during the final months on D1 before D2 was released and it was amazing. So many people cried that it ruined their k/d and trials stats. What was best of all was the fact that it took more of a team effort to win a game. The radar is like a 5th man(4th on D1) on your team if you rely on it too much. Without it, the playing field is more even, unless you're carrying a scrub who sucks at PvP. This will be a great test for everyone who likes Countdown because they can't just camp at a bomb and wait for the other team to appear. Now you gotta use skill :)

2 RepliesEdited by SilentOracle: 3/10/2018 3:23:40 AMYou just love your crutch dont you? XD I think this is funny and I will have fun dominating people like you in crucible when this update drops! PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS AND LISTEN FOR FOOTSTEPS!

4 RepliesEdited by ABackSeatDriver: 3/9/2018 10:30:31 PMNo radar means that you have to be more aware of your surroundings. If you can't handle playing without that feature active then you are not good enough to play. Plain and simple. 😉

1 ReplyRadar nerfs remove awareness? You will need to be more aware instead of relying on the game to do it for you.
-
12 RepliesActually I happen to think this is a great idea, the game will benefit more from flanks, snipers and close engagements. The only real problem to removed radar is the fact that players will camp way more which also kind of sucks.
-
Upvote id you're not a dunce that relies on radar and actually has high instinct!
-
6 RepliesDon't say nobody. I like the idea and like anything else a lot of people are willing to try this. So please do act like you are the voice of the community.

scrubs need radars. The people that "carry" hold hands over radar feed. I'm happy bungie removed this. I had a lot of fun during the halloween trials event and went flawless on the first or 2nd card. It really shows who is using radar too much for battling.

I expect in the next update for Bungie to add pick axes and building capabilities.

3 RepliesEdited by tidjuchi: 3/9/2018 7:28:44 PMPeople will camp more when radar is removed. Good job bungie.

Edited by Black Magic: 3/9/2018 4:12:02 PMWho comes up with this sh*t?

2 RepliesPvP is really the only place radar is usefully. Humans can be instinctive and cunning, they can change personalities and tactics at the drop of a hat. I practically never look at my radar in PvE as the enemy is as dumb as a pile of rocks, easily predictable I know by heart exactly where to aim the headshot every time.
