No mini map= the best thing bungie ever did!!

I see a lot of people in the community crying about no mini map...Destiny and halo...rather should i say Bungie ..are the only company that make a modern day fps shooter that allow you to not only know the direction of your opponents...but the distance they are away from you ..thats competitive???..knowin where your opponents are at all times...????? The reason people are crying about it...is because people have been mini map watching for 4 years now...uve never been able to stick and move/flank anyone...cause as soon as u try..they can see you wrap around them on the mini map...not only can they see you wrap around them..they know when ur gonna rush..they see it on the map?.. So they can jus sit and camp and wait on u to come around the corner...they see ya coming...thats competitive??? The only way to out think and flank somone on Destiny is to hope they are ADSin at another opponent or jus happen to not be lookin at the mini map.. So thank you bungie for makin ppl rely on their television and eyes to get the jump on someone in a gun battle and not rely on the top left of their tv screen..that takes no skill...skill is bein able to stick and move and out think ppl..not be a mini map master reader.. With no mini map there will be a lot more 1v1s...a lot LESS gettin circled up and team shotted...teams will have to communicate not jus watch a red meter on their map and make adjustments accordingly..now teams and ppl who like to rush will have advantages...they wont be seen rushin on the map..that 1-2 second element of surprise will finally enter into the destiny world... Sorry cry babies but yes Destiny is gonna be about who see who first and who puts more bullets into one another...not watchin a mini map and pre firing a corner...       • Flanking is definitely going to happen and camping isn't going anywhere. If you're knowledgeable with the map and hotspots, prefiring or a grenade toss becomes second nature. We might be going in a different direction but it's still the same shit, I guess we'll see if works out or the numbers drop even lower.

        • lolz, you don't get it. no mini map or radar = promoting camping gameplay. This will only further slow down the pace of the game, more boring gameplay The Power ammo changes will mean more kills by rockets leaving to rocket launchers being nerf'd into oblivion. IMHO not a good change

          • There was no mini map one time during halloween trials weekend in D1 and it was not enjoyable to play or enjoyable to watch. Just saying .. i understand what you are saying and on paper its good but it WAS implemented before and wasn't fun to play (at least for a casual player) which means even lesser casuals will play Trials and even more carries will happen for casuals wanting to get through trials ... so .. i have mixed feelings about this.

            • The change favors very coordinated teams more and is bad for randoms or pubs trying to band together which they already had a hard time... so I dont understand the reason here...but its competitive so I dont think anyone can complain about it favoring organized teams. To be honest it seems a pretty meh change to me, and far from..."The best thing they've ever done."

              • In other games, you can tell the direction you get shot from, and can tell where someone is from listening for footsteps etc. Not saying this is a bad move, although when I watched kraftyy during spooky trials it was just boring with all the camping.

                • This is just a way for Bungie to justify team shooting and to make the groups cling together even more. Groups will be just moving slower and it will be a big spam fest when they all find each other.

                  • Isn't the point of doing this for trials and competitive.. to make it MORE COMPETITIVE? Makes sense to me. Maybe I'm in the minority. Tons of games do this, only they call it "hardcore mode" or whatever. Good thing I got my season 2 competitive helmet ornament before the update, though :)

                    • Totally agree. No radar should be anywhere if you make a play do it with the enemy straight in the face or catch someone off guard. Great move this in my opinion. Grenades may I mention smoke bombs everywhere on the radar was ridiculous anyways.

                    • Only no skill sweaty mlg wanna be scrubs use radar. It is the BIGGEST crutch in shooters. I bet big money, heck almost guarantee you that 80%-90% of the Halo "pros" *cough* *cough* would be straight garbage without having the mini map crutch.

                      • I saw a streamer last night completely rage/rant over them removing radar from Trials and his argument was: It'll just cause people to group up even more!!! And I thought... does this popular streamer not know diddly about tactics? If I'm grouped up with friends we always say "Watch the flank". Spread out just enough so we are NOT grouped up making us easier to get team wiped, but Just enough so if for some reason one of us DOES spot a hostile they can accurately communicate where and how many; which allows the rest of us to react accordingly. *sighs* I don't know anymore :-/ This community is seriously toxic. Bungie made huge mistakes. We get it. But every...single...time they even attempt to be transparent/share new ideas people are SO quick to shyt on them now. This change is ONLY for competitive. For f-sakes let the update roll out give yourself a week to digest it. AND GIVE THEM LEGITIMATE FEEDBACK!!! I can already expect the "I played trials and it's shyt ...Destiny 2/Bungie is shyt...Been playing since Alpha/Beta of D1...I'm moving on...etc etc." -_-

                        • As a long-time Halo:Reach SWAT player, radar isn't something I rely on - good riddance, it can go away for Quickplay too as far as I'm concerned. Get rid of those radar-watching corner-crouch-camping scrubs in the process. It's about time we broke up the teamshotting with a little basic situational awareness.

They might have been better off meeting somewhere in the middle and including Inferno rules into the rotation but not make it the only way of playing Competitive.
