Can you play playstation plus free games offline or when your psn expires?

During the great Christmas outage of 2014, I couldn't play my PS Plus games. Kinda' sucked.

You van only play the free games as long as your PS+ is active. If you don't resubscribe you lose access to those games until you reactivate PS+. Also worthy of note, the free games have licenses set to expire when your PS+ does. If you go offline and the expiration date passes, you'll lose access until you log back in and it refreshes the licences after confirming your PS+ is active. On a Vita you need to start up each game individually while online to refresh it's specific licence, there's not a universal one. Not sure if PS4 is the same or not.

No, it's one of those you lose access when you aren't subscribed services.

2 RepliesIf it is a free game that you obtained while you have plus, then no you cannot play it when your plus expired. I'm not sure if you are offline though
