I’m a big fan of the Dark Souls games, and Bloodborne looks amazing, but unfortunately I’m on Xbox. I’d just like people’s opinions on if the game is worth getting a PS4 for.

27 RepliesIt’s old and not worth switching to a PS4 It’s just a single player games, like ALL PS exclusives PS is mainly for children who play CoD Just buy both. PS4 is amazing to have. Only if you also own an Xbox
-
I wouldn't suggest it for one game. But if you'd also like some of the other great exclusives then hands down yes, get a ps4.
-
I didnt change consoles, I just bought a ps4 then clocked in 200+ hours. After that I sold the ps4. Easily top 3 favorite games.
-
Yes, Yes it is
-
3 RepliesI played it and honestly I don’t get the hype. I mean it’s a great souls game with a new world which is cool but the build variety and replay value are non existent. Coming from dark souls it just felt so one dimensional. Pvp in it is terrible too if that’s your thing. As a souls lover it’s definitely a game you should try and get your hands on, but switching consoles for a one play through game is a little drastic imo.

If you go PlayStation try out Horizon Zero Dawn; it’s extremely good
-
1 ReplyKeep your Xbox and get the PS4 as well. Why not have both consoles?

Try it first. I love Souls. I recently started Bloodborne for the third time. This time I managed to actually start it. The combat is Souls-like but a bit faster paced. If you like the Victorian setting, you’ll have an easier time starting than I did. I like more traditional fantasy design, and even though I enjoy the combat, the weapon design is just painful for me to look at. Some cool armors though once you get out of the very beginning. If you liked Souls gameplay, Bloodborne won’t disappoint. If you liked The Souls setting, give BB a few hours of a grace period before you let it affect your experience.

As a owner of the PS4, XOne and Switch I can only say this: Buy if its not the only game youre interested in! Personally I have the PS4 for multiplayer games, since all my friends have one, the XOne for Singleplayer and the Switch for well... Nintendo exclusives and the ability to play games like Skyrim or Doom wherever the -blam!- I want (except underwater)
-
4 RepliesHeres a good rule of thumb. Dont buy a console for a single game.

Fanboys of xbo will say no, fanboys of ps4 will say yes. Here's an honest opinion, NO SINGLE GAME IS WORTH A WHOLE OTHER CONSOLE PURCHASE! If there are other games on the ps4 that interest you and would keep you gaming on it, then yes I'd say go for it especially since bloodborn and ratchet and clank are both free this month for ps+ members and both are phenomenal games. But if bloodborn is the only game tjat interests you on the system, I wouldn't do it. As great as the game is, it's not worth 200-400 bucks. No game is.

3 RepliesEdited by AngryTormentor: 3/6/2018 5:41:07 PMIf you're a big fan of Dark Souls then it would definitely be worth it. Bloodborne is easily one of if not the best souls game to date. The atmosphere is incredible. It's pretty much Edgar Allan Poe brought to life.
-
4 RepliesNot by itself but there’s also a good 10 other fantastic ps exclusives and a good 3-4 more on the horizon. Xbox has a big fat zero game breaking exclusives.
-
I mean it's one of the featured games for ps+ this month so even worth it for ps4 console and ps+ subscription.

1 ReplyEdited by ABeardedViking: 3/6/2018 5:39:45 PMNot just for BloodBorne but for all the other great games already out IE Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, KillZone, Infamous 2 Son, last of US, Uncharted, God of War 3 etc not to mention the ones coming out this year like Ni No Kuni 2, God of War, Detroit becoming human, Days Gone to name a few. Also Sony exclusives aren’t filled with season passes or Microtransactions that plague the majority of the games these days
-
I did exactly this. Totally recommend a buy as you can pick up a decent PS4 for cheap now. The amount of great exclusive games is worth it. Not only Bloodborne but HZD, the Last of Us, God of War, just to name a few.
-
2 RepliesMaybe if you tie in horizon zero dawn and another exclusive.
-
3 RepliesBloodborne is in my opinion the finest game Fromsoft has crafted in the Soulsborne series.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Swiftlock: 3/5/2018 10:43:13 PMBloodborne is a fantastic game, and it carries the Souls pedigree quite well. There's other games on PS4 worth taking at look at as well, such as Nier: Automata, The Last of Us, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank, and Gran Turismo Sport. PS4 has it pretty good, all things considered.
-
1 ReplyDo you have any friends with a PS4 it might not be to fun to get a console for one game and not have any one to play with
-
1 ReplyI'd say wait. Depending on what "Shadows die twice" means, they might make a new cross-platform game, maybe even be planning to make Bloodborne cross-platform. I'd also like a PS4 for Bloodborne, but I'm gonna wait.
-
I would say save what you can out of a couple pay checks before you go through with it. By itself, Bloodborne is amazing with much replayability for testing different builds, weapons, and higher difficulties... however, I cannot in good faith recommend a ps4 for Bb alone. Uncharted, Nier, Horizon Zero Dawn... there are plenty of great games.

Edited by Braythor: 3/6/2018 10:04:56 AMDepends on your disposable income. If buying a PS4 doesn't make much of a dent to your bank account then I'd say go for it. I bought my PS4 two years ago because I hated my xbone and yes Bloodborne was the first game I bought (Ratchet & Clank too, but that came with the console). Since then my PS4 library has increased by a lot, while my xbox gathers dust (if it wasn't for a small group of people I play Halo with, I'd sell it). Is it worth getting ONLY for Bloodborne? Yes if you can afford it, no if you can't, but by getting one you are opening yourself up to so many other amazing games.
-
No. Not by itself anyway. If you’re that worried about playing it you could buy a used PS4 from GameStop and give a try. Or just beat the game and return all of it for a refund.

Ni No Kuni 2 is.
