Destiny’s greatest physics breakers, ever. Sure, they hit you and SOMETIMES just shove you like a normal melee.
.
But, chances are you will become a human rocket after one soft tap to your no no square.
.
Seriously, are these guys drinking pure protein? I’ve been hit so hard that they even kill THEMSELVES from the blow, but that’s rare.
.
Also, that jerk Cabal on IO when it’s the flashpoint, he can jump off into the nearest black hole, thanks.

1 ReplyWhat ever happened to equal and opposite forces? Those Phalanx must literally weigh a ton.
-
In d1 i have been launched past the tank in the valus strike, and landed right next to the tunnel before entering the next area
-
2 Replies<Oh yeah, not to mention, Cabal ships are made of the same material as the D1 shields. I'm sure that if one rammed into you at full speed, you'd be across the galaxy in minutes.>
-
Phalanxes make for great shooting star meme material.
-
I've seen a Phalanx follow me all the way across a area on Mars to melee me.
-
1 ReplyD1- shield smash D2- space balls Which has killed you more?
-
I was so bad in Y1 D1, that when Bungie did the end of year character stat and achievement run-down the best thing they could find for me was that I was top 1% of phalanx kills. Those skills have served me well in D2.
-
At least we have room to avoid them. The pain of Prison of Elders still haunts me....

2 RepliesEdited by 10mm Socket (Timelost): 2/21/2018 7:09:21 PMA good hit will knock you to orbit faster than an error code.

3 RepliesThe best moments are when you turn around and a phalanx is mid-smack, about to launch you
-
It was honestly a lot worse in D1. If we had a The Red War in D1... I shudder to think.
-
Was there not a /r thread calculating how much those shields weigh and how much force the Phalanxes are hitting you with? Regardless, I find their shield smashes to be awesome and fun to avoid in encounters.
-
In D1 I‘ve gotten some pretty good launches by allowing them to hit me while sword blocking. It even launched them out of the area a few times. Not sure if it works in D2.
-
2 RepliesLegend has it that if a phalanx shield bashes you just right, you can fly over 5 miles
-
The cable that spawns on IO at the end of public events, I thought I was the only one that new about this as event one dissapare straight after the event
-
<Let me tell you, one minute you'll be on Mars and the next minute you're on Mercury. Phalanxes are not to be messed with.>

3 RepliesLurg the burning shield? It's best to have one other person to get him. If you see a guy fighting him solo, jump in and help. Stand on opposite sides of him and when he faces one guy the other shoots him in the orange back vent. He keeps trying to face whoever is shooting at him, so teamwork is better. I don't know if Skyburner's Annex works on him, but it probably does.
-
2 RepliesIf I’m in a Nightfall this pisses me off. Any other time I usually just laugh about it cuz it’s funny to watch. Especially the ones that send you flying so far you actually have a second or... five to look around. 😂

6 RepliesEdited by Seraphim Crypto: 2/20/2018 11:24:24 PMConsidering Cabal Phalanxes weigh a lot themselves, then wear a super heavy armor AND a super heavy shield (in Destiny 1, no idea if the one in Destiny 2 has lesser weight), I don't think it's surprising that they send you flying with their shield lunge attack. There wasa thread about it once calculating the actual force behind the lunge, and if it would be realistic at all, it would be comparable to a heavy car hitting you. Sure it's annoying, but to me it makes sense dying on impact after being sent flying by a car, if you don't die right away.
-
I think the shield launch was actually a glitch, but Bungie left it in to troll us. Bungie has intentionally left in glitches before, like the one in Halo that lets you keep your gun down, for the RvB guys.
-
I love killing that tough Cabal that shows up after the Rupture public event. Though it really is a lot easier with some help. Last time it seemed that others knew about it and I rarely had to try it alone. Best super for me to take him out solo has been Arcstrider with the exotic chest armor (Raiden Flux).

That tag xD

Edited by MR NOBODY: 2/21/2018 9:47:45 AMNot as bad as the boss stomp attack. Once doing the weapons dealer I was stomped from one side of the map down the to the other and so far into the kill zone I didn’t make it back in time.
-
Well its about the same force as getting hit by a large trucks so

Don’t even start about the taken
